From the news that I've been hearing, Nintendo will not be holding back any punches at this years E3. Tidbits have been leaking that Nintendo is ready to display a game for 'hardcore gamers'. So what do you think will be the super headliner of the 2008 show? My hope would be a new I.P. or a new Pikmin. Also, take a stab at the rest of the lineup and news that may be coming our way as well. Lastly, does anyone think Nintendo may resurrect an old I.P. from the past? Just curious.

Headliner: Pikmin

Resurrected I.P.: Kid Icarus

'B' Team Games:
Animal Crossing
Mario Party (stepping out on this one, with a new updated Graphic engine!)
Star Fox (God I hope so!)
Kirby

Other News:
More Mario Kart Info
More Disaster Info

Yeh I think Pikmin has a fair enough chance of showing up, but im not so sure about Kid Icarus. It would be awesome though. I also think we might see DK Jungle Beat 2. That would really make my day.

I don't think the next Animal Crossing is going to be "B-team". I think it's going to be the first game with pay-to-play online, and as such, I think it's going to be much more expansive than previous games in the series.

I wouldn't have called Animal Crossing the B Game

in fact

I guarantee it will be THE headline game.

Think about it...If Nintendo does a good job with the online component, they can point to this game and say "Who says we are down on online games?" (even though WFC sucks)

Kid Icarus would be a nice surprise though.

Im also hoping for Disaster: DOC to be shown....It looks like it has potential, but at the same time, Geist did as well....

Jungle Beat 2 would be pure win.

I remember reading somewhere that Jungle Beat 2 is a possibility. I think after Galaxy came out the team said something about wanting to make JB2. w0000t

lets see

games that are likely to make an appearance and considering past appearances they should be playable

Disaster: Day of Crisis
Super Mario Stadium Baseball
Kirby
Wii Music

if we take into account previous comments by Nintendo, Animal Crossing isnt out of the question especially with the recent pay-to-play announcement.

seeing as how WiiWare is getting fairly positive feedback, expect to see a healthy dose of playable titles.

next, with WiiFit and the balance board being out by E3 (and selling very well i'd guess), i wouldnt be surprised to see some more Balance Board compatible software. 1080 would be a nice start. i'd be hoping for that or WaveRace.

as far as bringing back really old franchises, there arent too many i'd like to see.

Pilotwings
Kid Icarus
PunchOut
Sin & Punishment

out of the not as dead franchises theres StarFox, F-Zero and Donkey Kong.

finally, don't forget that Nintendo are having a hand in the new Fatal Frame title so i'd say it's possible they may want to show that off to say "hey we're still cool. you play later".

anyhoo, i'm not going to get hyped up about this "E3 is going to be huge" dealio. if it turns out to be, i'll enjoy it at the right time and not before.

I am tired of Nintendo's Earthbound peep show. If they are going to give us both Lucas and Ness in Brawl, they better damn well announce that they are bringing Mother 3 to the US and release the original NES Mother on the VC

Some new IP would be awesome, not just some Wii fit/play crap

You'll be able to play Mother 3 in English later this year.

Although perhaps not officially.

New IPs.

Monolith Software, Retro Studios, and possibly a new buyout. New Wii Channels, Pay to Play, new Wii-mote attachments, ...I'll add more later.

I really want to see some totally new IPs in no way related to any established franchises. I love Nintendo's classic franchises, so much so that I would buy Nintendo's hardware even if their games were to be the only decent software for it. However, people often gripe about seeing the same old stuff from Nintendo, like they're a one-trick pony. Some fresh new IPs would be nice to show everyone that they're plenty capable of bringing us new things.

i think that's what they're using Disaster for. and that's why it's taking so long to finish. the game is being watched by so many people that Nintendo have to get it right to prove they are capable of more than critics claim.

a couple more new IPs wouldnt hurt either. it would be nice to find out that Project HAMMER is back in development.

Well I'm not sure what to expect at E3 this year but I have many ideas. Pretty much what all you guys said with franchises being reborn and new game franchises being born. I just hope I got the money with me when these games come out. Hopefully the big games will come out this holiday season.

LOL. I love Mother 3 And Mother instead of saying Earthbound... haha.

I say...
CRYSTALIS!!!!

But it'll never, ever happen. Damn...

Whats with this pay to play people are speaking of?

Maybe E3 is when Nintendo unveils that the Virtual Console will quit consisting of hardly anything beyond the same shooters with different backgrounds and fighter games.

I think Nintendo, what would be best for them to keep the casual and hardcore gamers happy...would be to release the following games

Wave Race (with possible balance board support...but not necessary)
1080 (with possible balance board support, also not necessary)
Pilotwings (again..with possible bb support and also not necessary)

I think those 3 games can really appeal to the core gamers, and also appeal to the casual gamers. Who doesn't like arcade style racing games? And then Pilotwings I think would really appeal to the core and casual very well since it's been 12 years since the core games have seen the franchise.

Then of course...release something like F-Zero, Pikmin 3, Kirby or a new franchise (only one of those options...hold off a 2nd one until March 2009)

If they came out with the combo of Pilotwings, F-Zero, Wave Race and 1080 they could really advertise the group of them all together and get a real good ad campaign out of it.
