Laptop speakers have stopped working!

A friend of mine helped me install a new keypad on my laptop - and about a week into using the laptop after he returned it to me, there's absolutely no output of any kind coming from the two speakers on the laptop itself.

That same friend also suggested that I do a system restore, but it was such a long time ago that it occured that I cant even recall the date.

I figured I'd make a thread about it before I sent it off to be fixed.


- Headphones will output audio when inserted into jack.
- Volume is not muted.
- When I go into "Sounds and Audio Device properties", all of my audio hardware is listed as functioning properly.

All assistance is appreciated.

The new keyboard may be interfering with the speakers, wires, etc...

Take it off again and look for any damage.

Eurgh. I was hoping it wouldn't come to that..

The sole reason I had someone else do it was because I couldn't myself.

Sorry but this sounds more like a physical issue and not software related.
