This is something I've been waiting for a long time : 3D games.

http://www.gamespot.com/news/show_blog_entry.php?topic_id=26396594&sid=6191347&tag=latestnews;title;2

I've never understand why it hasn't been released before.
I remember trying a Need for speed on a PC with such glasses and the result was amazing.

I really can't wait to have such games on my screen.

Your thoughts guys ?

Interesting, but I'd rather wait for true 3D monitors with no need for glasses. I always get a headache after a few hours of wearing those.

Yeah but wait to see the price of such TVs. To begin with 3D I think that's a good thing to have glasses.

Well, the 3D drivers for NVidia hardware do work too (anaglyph stuff... red and cyan glasses) with most PC games

I remember one of the Sly Cooper games having a mode like that as well. the game came with glasses included. I don't remember if it was for some sections only or if it was for the entire game.

Yeah, I think it was Sly3 (never had the glasses, only bought it used)... cool stuff :D

This is the glasses I've tried a while ago : the experience was awsome .

But more intersting, there is a version for last-gen consoles, I guess there will be one for curent gen consoles :

I recall getting headaches from red/green images with such glasses. Somehow my eyes don't cope easily with pseudo 3D.

It seems that Nvidia is preparing something about 3D games :

http://computex.nvidia.com/content/apevents/pre_computex_2008/index.html

I am very interested about that and I wonder if it will come to the PS3 (the RSX being an NVIDIA product).

Let's wait for june 3-7 for the answer (about 3D games, may be not for the PS3)

Ehh, I wouldn't like wearing glasses over my glasses. And I couldn't be assed to put in my contacts every time I wanted to play one of these games.

I'm against this idea.

They should get 2D games right before moving onto 3D. (zing)

And also PS3 can do 4D already so Ubisoft is one dimension behind. (lulz)

You can do 3D in other ways than glasses, Hisham ;)

Yeah, but the TV's that do this aren't in the consumer price range yet. Maybe in the future, but not right now.

a few years back, Samsung produced a laptop with a screen capable of presenting 3D images that you can see without wearing any glasses or doing anything at all.

3D will never take off with any mandatory accessory. I think they will find away to do it, but they are focusing on making the concept work first before moving on to not needing accessories.

Head tracking? Yes please.

Well I don't mind wearing a pair of glasses to have 3D.
Have you ever tried one of this in a game ? for me the result is exactly what I'm hoping from a game : behing more "inside" the game than today.

Since the day that I've tried it, I'm wating for such glasses on my PS3.
I can't imagine playing Motorstorm with this, that would be amasing.
