Sony Online got something up there sleeve for E3?

As you know, E3 2008 is coming to the Los Angeles Convention Center next month and something very interesting has arrived in our mailbox. An invitation by Sony Online Entertainment in which we can read:

"Sony Online Entertainment, the company that brought you epic adventures in EverQuest and EverQuest II, has something new up its cape, um...we mean sleeve, at this year’s E3 Media and Business Summit!"

Very intriguing...Of course, Game Focus will be present at E3 so we’ll bring you the full details about this "new thing". Let the speculation begin..

Not trying to begin another speculation thread but this has me interested. Could be anything really. guessing another MMO (hoping not like everquest)

And this makes me think, what happened to Sonys deal with NCsoft? we've hardly heard anything on that since announcment.

Well with the cape reference and NCSoft's incorporation, could it be City of Heroes? I hope not... I hope it's something new, some kind of badass new MMOFPS like PlanetSide :-D

Six stars? LOL If it's Kingdom Come Gotham City, farting for two seconds too long will get BATBOTS on your ass. And Bats goes after small fries all the time, so even a half star will get you sewed up by the Dark Knight.

It has to be more. You see, Kaz Hirai just recently merged SOE with SCEWWS. Meaning, SOE has to report to SCEWWS. So I'm thinking this merge could have something to do with community as a whole and not just a simeple game since SOE are more resouceful than SCE in online communication and interacting.

NCsoft said they wouldn't have anything to show until around Christmas. With the recent moves Sony has been making and Kaz's word it seems they really do believe that MMO will help differentiate them from the competition.

In the latest issue of Official Playstation Magazine UK they have posted this in there uppers and downers section -

Resi 5 Rules - Easily our most wanted game of 2009 (Except for Sony's Secret one.)

Now this isn't the first time this game has impressed people, recenty a new editor for a Playstation magazine stated they can't wait for it, and someone writing for the BBC loved it as well. Hopefully we will find out sooner rather than later.
