The first leg of the "Game Tools & Middleware Forum 2008" was held in Tokyo today, and the above site has posted a host of slides shown during the presentations of SCEJ, and others.
They mainly deal with generating various physics effects using middleware and the uptake of high definition displays. Some interesting slides:

Graph of the space taken on on Blu-ray disks over time:

It should track also the eyes so you can view a bit around in racing games.
Just imagine that with the GT5 cockpit view!

Ya, the face recognition seems interesting...

The chart says, it runs on one spu at ~13%... quite nice actually

If it only takes up 13% of a single SPU, this shouldn't be a problem for most games. Hell, this should be included in GT5!

Actually, I am not quite sure, how to interpret the table...

It say ~80% usage of the PPC, when it is used alone, and then it states 1 SPE at 13%... You can now either say it uses one SPE at 13% or it uses the SPE at 100% AND the PPC at 13%... (it also shows 4 SPEs at ~8% or so... I dunno how to interpret that at all).

Still, simple games should implement it. Would look great in fl0w, for example.
