Civ Rev Demo Thoughts

I almost got a domination victory on the demo tonight. I was maybe 2 or 3 turns away from beating the last of my enemies. Unfortunately, the Egyptians had a 27 defense group of archers in their base. If not for that I'd have gotten them in time... I just wish I had the full game now. I've learned so much about it in just a few playthroughs. Multiplayer should be really fun.

Much easier than Civ4 on PC.

Should be good for first time players, I didn't find it that appealing.

I thought it was fun. I liked the animations and the battling. And I liked the simple way to create armies because I had no idea you could do that in any Civ (if it was possible before, I didn't know you could).

Although the interface was kind of clunky, almost too large. And I think it needs to be more well indicated when turns are starting. And similarly the turns feel like they take too long to 'computerize' to get back to the player.

The graphics felt unreasonably slow too. They look not bad, but feel slow at times. I mean... this is a PS3 isn't it? The framerate was kind of annoying and especially when zoomed out. The onscreen advisors looked cool but they needed a little more polish when they pushed each other out of the way. Sometimes the guy coming in would take a little too long coming in and stuff, and the frames of the on screen guys would stutter.

All in all it was simple and more or less easy to figure out what was going on but the graphics and interface need a face lift. I really don't understand what is causing this game not to run absolutely without hiccup.

Edit - Oh ya, Battlefield Bad Company is a very ugly and bad game. Baaahhhhhhdddd. Do not want.

It's a must-buy, unlike BF.
