Well, it's been dated... for that one person who doesn't have one
haven't seen this posted yet

Sony Europe announced this morning that the DualShock 3 will release in the land down under over there on July 2 and in the UK on July 4. The rumble-licious controller will cost £40 -- there is currently no price given in Euros.

So, happy American Independence Day merry ol' England! Crack open a can of Bud, prep some barbecue and go down to your local games shoppe and pick up a DualShock 3. Yes, it's everything the Sixaxis was supposed to be.

How much is that in USD? $80?

Although Sony has no excuse for releasing the DS3 so late (after GT5P and MGS4) and at such a price, the thread title is just inappropriate.

Does anybody from Europe really care??

I mean, importing one via Yesasia is cheaper and just as reliable AND there are more colors available too...

Not everyone is aware of Yesasia. Therefore, people are getting butt fucked.

Well Sony had to dump all their Siaxises somewhere :P

I only use Sixaxis today with all those button mashing titles without rumble.

Probably will buy another DS3 pretty soon though, it's an excellent controller. Didn't think heavier would be better after using DS3 for the first time, it felt just right. More precise dual analogs and better motion control because of the sturdier structure vs sixaxis.

Considering the Sixaxis is still £30 in most shops, £40 is hardly a surprise. I was expecting it to be this price, do you really think it would come cheap? £35 PS2 memory cards, £30 PS2 multitap, anybody?

and remember that £40 really isn't $80-85, only in an exchange sense. There's no point in comparing the two.

I think 360 controllers are 40£ over here as well, really nothing new :(

Yeah, they are the same as the sixaxis before... but still... why should big companys thrive on globalisation and the consumers shouldn't? That's my point!

But then again, the "normal" customer doesn't care, so why should I try and protect them^^

Ask the government to lower the taxes on electronic goods ;)

That's life i suppose, guess you don't have to pay it.

This is why i like having a PS3, im never really limited by price differences over continents, or late releases

Import via Yesasia... 38€ (100AUD is 60,50€) incl. shipping...

I'm thinking that Sony should be made aware that people are better off getting the DS3 imported...

But seeing as the last time that happened, Sony sued (and won), this would be a dark step.

Ah, the dilemma.

My local Saturn broke street day for both Buzz and the DualShock 3...

60€ is quite steep, compared to the Sixaxis, which was 50€... quite a joke alright. And only black is available (the white one looks soooooo much better!)
