simple banner needed

I work for a promotions company in leeds and am making a simple website for my guestlist.

I am looking for a simple banner saying guestlistleeds.co.uk, but also looks pretty cool.

I have no idea what to do though can anybody be of help?

How big, what filetype any colors....?

id say it has to go from one side of the screen to the other (just a wee bit longer than the Nintendo now one), maybe one and a half times as wide.

iv uploaded the basic colours of the website, (similar color code to www.takingliberties.co.uk as its the company Im doing the guestlist for)

jpeg filetype i think, all the other pictures on it are.

the main emphasis is to be on the words Guestlist Leeds, while the background can really be anything so long as it looks good and is coherent with the color scheme

is that any help?

do you know anything bout html and css? The banner keeps repeating if you make the page bigger but I only want it to show once.

Il hopefully be making the site active sometime next week.
