I don't know why there isn't a thread, so here it is.

The unity thing's turning out very well.

What we've learned:

-Michelle Obama is the shit.
-Hillary Clinton can be appealing.
-Bill Clinton is a fuckin stud.
-Joe Biden's lifestory will wrench tears out of every pore of your body.

I am going to stand still till the "Get out the vote" gets going. Might as well make them jump to buy my vote than going with it like the majority based upon overzealous campaign spending in this 3 year election campaign abomination.

The rest of the world gets this entire process done in a few months.

I've been following it pretty closely. It's been interesting to watch.

Despite the message of unity, there's still a faction within the convention that isn't so thrilled about all of this. That's dangerous for the Democrats.

For some reason, my Dad thinks McCain is still going to win. He says conservatives are the silent majority, so that's why you don't hear about them as often. I just don't see it happening.

I watched Michelle Obama and Biden speak. Both were very good.
I still don't know who I am going to vote for... and I am sure someone is going to kill me for saying this, but I don't think it really matters who I vote for. I am in TX.

Democrats definitely do seem like they are seriously out-gunning the Republicans anyway. Not even talking just prime time minutes, but with just the memorable faces and big names going out there. Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, Obama is itself enough I might even say. All the positive coverage on M. Obama and Biden is just unbelievable as well though.

What maybe bothers me a little bit is that traditionally women favour the Democrats. But this time around, possibly strongly influenced by Hillary not taking the nomination, women are actually voting quite evenly between the parties.

Anyone know anymore information on this?

I read an interesting article on this. I'll look around if I can find it again. It made some contrasts between what Lincoln had to do in the Civil War to what Obama is having to do with his 'split' party.

I watched the DNC in Denver tonight. Obama nailed the rhetoric with conviction and purposeful emotion but better still he finally outlined how he planned to enact the oft demanded 'change'.

I will keep an eye on the RNC next week though I doubt McCain will provide a compelling reason for this Independent not to vote Democrat this year.

I'd rather not vote for either but voting for Obama over McCain ensures that even if things don't get much better....they certainly won't get much worse as is the potential under McCain.

Uh... wow. I'm speechless. What an amazing speech.

It was certainly a very well crafted speech and masterfully presented.

He earned many a voter on that alone but I'm truly glad he went beyond rhetoric and talk and laid down some fundamental actions. IF he can make good on those proposed actions, he'll do for the next 4 year years.

I think he broke a record for the most "thank yous" spoken in a 10 minute period.

Christ.

I've never been in the country in my life yet I still want to vote for him to bring back America's promise.

I couldn't be bothered reading or watching the speech so i got the transcript and got my mp3 player to text-to-speech it to me, sure it was very robotic and creaped me out a bit because of it, but it was a fairly good speech.

It was a damn good speech but I need to know more. What specifically does he want to cut and what to add? It's why I've never liked any of the front runners in this election because they never really spoke about the real what's and how's.

He spit a good game but can he back the hype?

I caught the Obama rally yesterday in Battle Creek. He's started to adopt a higher ground to the Rove tactics the McCain campaign is using already. It can still go to anyone.. but really.. ha ha.

It's quite refreshing.

I still don't understand how so many grown ass adults can get teary eyed over such Barney adages as "We are the ones we've been waiting for."

Just a spoon full of sugar makes the Marxism go down...the Marxism go down.

Obama's too tame for a Marxist. I'm just interested in what he has to say.

Although I have yet to hear a plan from McCain or Obama on much. It's just the same, good old politicking.
