thanks for the heads up
but anyway seeing as i never saw the original, this will be all new to me
If this is a remake, why is Jason in this? His mom was the original killer.

Beat me to it.
I'm still interested to some degree. I was surprised with the recent Halloween remake so I'm hoping this does well too.
What really has me worried is they plan to remake A Nightmare On Elm Street....without Robert Englund. WTF?

Maybe his mom is underneath the mask? That's what I figured must be going on...
Don't people get the idea that remakes are pretty much always FUCKING AWFUL??!!
Yup. There's things already wrong with this movie. One was that his mom was the killer, and two, Jason didn't adopt his hockey mask until the 3rd movie. If this is supposed to be a remake of the very first one then they just messed up the entire story line and saga of Friday the 13th.
EDIT: and another thing, at the end of the clip. Jason? Running at his victim? That's kinda new. He usually let his prey break their leg from running or something. He always took his time getting to his victims. But that's kinda cool I guess. Gives you the feeling that this 7 foot tall mentally challenged psycho man will kill anything that moves.

jason was supposed to walk slow, perhaps a speed walk, but never SPRINT
Remember guys there are several parts to Friday the 13th not just the first movie and this remake is actually going to draw on key elements from the first 3 apparently.
Jason's mom will be a part of the movie and Jason will be wearing his burlap sack for the first part of the movie.

It actually sounds pretty good after reading that little article.

When OG showed me this trailer, I said something along the lines that you did about Elm St. I said I hoped they didn't remake it. I should've known they would.
Pro A.

No Friday the 13th remake would be complete without a reappearance by the only actor whose career survived that dismal flick... Kevin Bacon!
This can replace the original Friday as the worst movie he's ever been in.

They are also making it without Wes Craven's approval. Hell, he didn't even know they were remaking it until he was questioned about during a recent interview.
All the good Elm Street movies had him as director....1 and 7.

I heard they were mashing the first three films together and making one... I also heard that scenes with Pamela Voorhees and "young" Jason were cut after they didn't go over well with test groups.
I bet Friday the 13th fans will come out disappointed after watching this movie :( I'm a huge fan and I'm dreading this!
And what's with all of the remakes!!!?!?!?!?!!!???? Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!
P.S. Wow... Look at this... http://www.google.ca/imgres?imgurl=http://www.mwctoys.com/images/review_pamv_3.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.mwctoys.com/REVIEW_013105a.htm&h=533&w=400&sz=32&tbnid=KUHYVA51054J::&tbnh=132&tbnw=99&prev=/images%3Fq%3DPamela%2BVoorhees&hl=en&usg=__aLfEige_xmidLl011A8xwGQSaHA=&sa=X&oi=image_result&resnum=5&ct=image&cd=1

No matter what, I'll see it. Wait for DVD or something, but I've seen all the others so it wouldn't be right to miss this one.

Oh definitely... I'll most likely be at the theater on opening day and I'll most likely buy it when it comes out on DVD because I own all the others... I just think Hollywood needs to come up with some new ideas... Remakes are killing me.

Unfortunately it's true :(
It's coming out in 2010, but we still don't know who is playing Freddy... All we know is that it won't be Englund. There have been so many rumors floating around as to who will be playing Freddy, it's INSANE! Crispin Glover, Johnny Depp, Billy Bob Thorton etc etc etc...

Not even Wes Craven knew about it for a long while until just recently they invited him on as a character writer.
I highly doubt we'll see Heather Langenkamp again either...granted she is 44 now.
