Its cool to see and hear it happen, but it doesn't exactly hold my attention - its just another "wow, thats cool" video on youtube.

Usually the preparation for these things is up there with real rockets - usually they're shut off at the first sign of problems, and if conditions aren't right they' simply don't run. Plus, they're run on salt flats, which are typically fairly flat, which further minimises the chances of stuff fucking up.
