View Full Version : Is it right? (RB2)

After 2 days of playing Rock Band 2 since launch the kickdrum on my Drums broke. The first kickdrum took several months to break so that and the fact that I bought the RB2 bundle just for the sake of getting a new set of drums (and kickdrum) caused me to be even more pissed than the first time my RB1 kickdrum broke.

So, here's the deal. I'm waiting until Wal-mart gets disc copies of RB2 and then I'm returning my whole kit and buying the new disc. RB1 (and probably 2, I didn't check) has a slip that says "don't return to store, send to EA" or something like that. I don't care though.

Does that make me an ass? Am I vindicated in returning it because of the Kickdrum breaking after 2 days?

Should this be in video games?

And yeah, that sucks. i thought the RB2 hardware was supposed to be a lot more durable?

Mail it to EA along with a bag of dog doo....obviously no return address is needed.

how the heck did you break the RB2 pedal...it has that metal piece on it.... I do realize its just a thin piece of nearly fake metal.....but do you stomp on it or something?

I love my new drum set!

I'm solving that problem tonight (buying GH World Tour)

The hinge is made of plastic. I drum with my heel and I play on Expert..do the math! :D

I'm ordering that $85 pedal sometime after I return the full set because my old drums still work (aside from the pedal).

I'm also planning on buying GH:WT at some point in time..but I want to try it first.

I have no idea how you broke it either, me, ringo and lucent drum on expert and we haven't broken ours (well other then the RB1 plastic ones). The metal ones we haven't had any trouble with. Just get EA to replace it they will send you a new one in just a few days.

Let me know how it is (how is the drum kit? are the cymbals implemented well? stable? etc)

I'm 50/50 about buying it.

I still haven't even broken the RB1 pedal. I've had it since launch and play on expert.

I had a ton of different people playing it during the two days. I had a couple RB2 parties during that time..so I'm sure that didn't help.

I probably is that I kick with my heel and the new design deals with that type of force worse than the first did.

oh, and I'm 400 pounds and 300 of that is in my right leg.

I went through so many pedals when I was a drummer, so it's not a huge surprise to see pedals going on what's essentially a toy drum kit.

^I'm using my first kit.

If I know anything about electronics, I'd use a real kit, well the electronic one(but I don't have that money to buy any of these.)

GH: World Tour is absolute trash, btw. Played it tonight and it is fucking terrible.

It's not trash, I played it tonight for like 3 hours. The guitar is good, the drums will take getting used to though and you have to hit them harder, but just something to adjust too.

I think it's a lot of fun.

I think rock band 2 might be more polished but GH is still good.

I guess just put a lot of energy on the drums, which is how you should be playing if it was a real drum anyways.
but idk, i've never seen or played it.

I also am shocked that you broke the RB2 pedal... I guess if you are that pissed about it, then return it? But really, it's a shock that you broke it!

And we got GH:WT tonight and it's fun so far but (sadly) not as good as Rock Band overall. The interface feels confusing during songs when you're in a band. It's an effort to check to see if you all have star power, it's harder to see your streak, etc. And vocals are way too sensitive.

Just played it for about 5 hours. I was our drummer and I only have one problem with the drum kit. The blue pad is seldom used and the position of it is awkward so its a real momentum breaker. Other than that, the game is great. It feels so much better than Rock band or Rock Band 2. Actually, I do have one other complaint about the soundtrack. Too many of the songs in World Tour are also in Rock Band 2. That just drives me nuts. I like this set list better than Rock Band's but the borrowed songs make me crazy.
