Well, it seems like they got a Pulitzer writer to work on Spidey 4.
I think we should expect this to be a little bit like Spidey 2.
I loved 2 best, honestly. =P
I hope they get some better casting.
Good to see tobey and kristen are still around and Raimi still directs it.
I wonder who's the new villain(s) are going to be.

think they might go into carnage?
Electro or Mysterio are also possible..... just as long as it is nothing at all like 3

I've enjoyed 3 for what it was and I thought it was done well considering it tried to tackle 2 villains at once.
I think they said they would donate Venom his own film which would be good.
I don't know if that's planned for 4 or not though.
My least favourite things in ALL Spider-Man films is Ms Dunst so I'm not too thrilled she is still here but hey, that's a minor gripe.
And yeah, Spider-Man2 was my fav also.

Spidey 3 was trash, they rush Venom into the picture fearing the current actors wouldn't be around by the time they actually brought venom in the mix, Venom IMO required a 2 movies, Spidey's greatest nemesis was treated like a common thug that got some nice special effects in part 3, there's no way they can pull off the Sinister six because killed the Villains off, they had it setup perfectly, introduce Eddie in part 3, Dr Conner was there since part 1, Lizard/Harry Goblin as the Villains in part 3, introduce the Spiderman symbiote, and at the end of part 3 we have the creation of Venom, but Sony Studios had other plans, all studios are stupid IMO, and they eventually ruin all great movie franchises.

I thought there was only supposed to be 3 movies anyway so killing off Venom at the end of 3 made sense.
I, for one, hated 3. I went to a midnight showing, to an absolutely packed theater, and had to take a piss about half way through the movie. And, fearing that I might miss the part were the movie suddenly turned good, I held it in for an hour and a half. It sucked. Thankfully, that piss after the movie was the most amazing thing ever.
As for Spiderman 4? As long as you keep Kristen Dunst from singing or Tobey from going emo, itll be a marked improvement.

Especially if they're jettisoning the script James Vanderbilt (Zodiac) wrote, which apparently had enough material for two movies.
As for the villain... lots of room there. The Lizard should be on the top of the list just because it seems like they've done enough teasing with Dylan Baker as Doc Connors. Do it or don't do it. There's a good storyline that wouldn't be too unlike what they did for Spider-Man 2, but I think they could expand on the pathos even more with him.

Mysterious would be a pretty badass villain, but I don't know if they'll make the costume good, but sticking to its authenticity. Like how they did Doc Octopus.
I miss him. =[
I think Lizard should at least appear somewhere in 4, I mean isn't he like kind of a big deal.
fuuuck
I think they'll finally turn Dr. Connors into the green, scaly monster that has been waiting beneath the surface since the second film.
Also, seeing the Jackal and eventually a hint of Ben Reilly is my wet dream.
I've actually been writing a screenplay about the Scarlet Spider for a few years now...

The Venom symbiote should have been introduced in the second film when Parker lost his powers. It would have made a lot more sense than him just getting them back, and having JJJ's son bring back the symbiote would have been a hell of a lot better than it just arriving on an asteroid.
That way we could have saved so much set up time in the third film, which could have actually been used to develop the characters. They wasted so much time in number three, the whole emo side plot, the inclusion of Sandman - you could take him out completely and the rest of the plot would remain completely in tact - among many other useless moments.
The two most potentially interesting villains in Harry Osborne and Eddie Brock and somehow they managed to fuck it up.
As for this film, dear God, do not touch Electro. He just wouldn't translate well to film. Mysterio would work well, as would the Lizard, and both of these would get the big special effects shots Sony wants for their trailers. Kraven is another option, though not nearly as flashy.
However, if they were to insist on having two villains, Kraven and Lizard would work perfectly. Peter trying to save Dr. Connors while Kraven attempts to hunt him down.
Of course, it would be a guilty pleasure to see Scorpion on the big screen...

Venom as Spidey's greatest nemesis? Lol. You don't read comicbooks do you?
Paz Ben Reily really?
I hate all the people on this board that know even a little about Spider-man.

Sry dude but I don't read Comics any more and the ones i read Venom was portrayed as spidey's Greatest nemesis, today comics go through many rewrites it's hard to follow anymore, it's been 8-10 years since i read a comic and it wasn't spiderman it was the garbage relaunch Xmen where wolverine was a bad guy working for Magneto, the art work in the comic was so so bad i threw it in the garbage.

I am confused... were you asking in a "oh wow, that's interesting" sort of way, or with more of a "someone should curb stomp your face for such a dumb comment" undertone?
Also, you hate people on the board who know about Spidey??????????? Are you talking the Raimi fanboys or the true comic book readers?

hopefully this is 2010 at the soonest, hopefully by then I can get the awful taste of Spiderman 3 out of my mouth, that movie actually managed to retroactively destroy everything else Spiderman did that was awesome in the past...

lol liquid.
I was watching Darkman(Directed by Raimi) today and that got me a little happy again the fact that he is directing spidey 4.
I still have hope for raimi, to give us that Spidey 1-2 feel again.
Or at least evil dead.

Well nemesis I understand, you probably aren't a big nerd like I am. Anyways, Venom is one of the biggest (I have Amazing Spider-Man #300 where he is fully introduced and its pretty cool) but recently, Venom has actually gone to Matt Grogan, aka Scorpion, and he works for the THunderbolts (which is also now controlled by Norman Osborn) which is a band of misfits that the government uses to capture and penalize unregistered superheroes.
Eddie Brock actually formed cancer from having the Venom suit for so long, and his antibodies became mutated and created a white symbiote suit around his body and he became Anti-Venom..its kind of gay but he basically can whoop Venoms ass with it.
Paz what I am saying is, I am saying I am annoyed by people that could think stuff like Ben Reilly was cool..my step-dad used to be in comics and thought he was cool. My stedad is a dumbass for thinking that though..also I am a Raimi fanboy, and I think he was great for the job, just 3 was kind of meh.
Also a few other cues that it is a Raimi movie:
-When he uses a first-person tunnel cam (like he did for the "presence" in Evil Dead or the arrows in Hercules and Xena, or in the case of Spider-Man 2, the tentacles on Doc Ock)
-Bruce Campbell is in it
-There is a lot of repetition, good repetition though
-Shadows are used to show action
-there is a musical number (or two)
-cornball jokes

don't forget his bro.
he helps sometimes lol
well i mean identifying a raimi film.
Tobey Maguire saying "Dig on this" in a night club?
EPIC FAIL
The only reason I liked Ben Reilly and the whole Kain chapter was because that was my intro into comics.

They better avoid any of that Scarlet Spider, The Jackal, and other cloning bullshit. I hated the Clone Saga and I believe that was when I stopped reading comics and in turn started watching the cartoons more (X-Men, Fantastic Four, Spider-Man, Iron Man, etc.) Too bad, I loved comics but that whole saga was extremely disappointing
They also better avoid Carnage, Doppelganger, Shriek, Demogoblin, and Carrion.
The only villains I actually support at this point include:
Major Roles:
The Lizard
Kraven
Mysterio
Minor Roles:
Scorpion
Shocker
Hobgoblin
Morbius

I think they can pull off Mysterio more and probably might make Lizard more CGI... but I'm praying that they'd make it some kind of puppeteer work.
Jurassic fucking Park did it in 1993(I think that was the year it came out).
