Very odd news....
Now I'm a huge Anime/Manga fan, but I am able to distinguish reality from fiction and I'm able to accept the fact that most things that happen in Anime, Manga, and Video Games just won't happen in real life. I don't think I will love my Anime/Manga to the point of wanting to marry them, but I guess there are those that are more willing to...

I am no longer interested in three dimensions. I would even like to become a resident of the two-dimensional world," he wrote.
He needs to be a Resident of a Mental ward.
It will be a sad day indeed when someone is allowed to legally marry a fictional character.

He can love whoever or whatever he wants.
That's fine with me.
But why must it be legal?
Can't he just pretend to be married?
That seems like the most appropriate path.
What is the point in marrying a fictional character?
If marriage between a man and a manga character becomes legal, the author becomes a god.
Suppose the author decides to kill off the character...

I'd like to find out which character he's trying to marry... and also, what happens should that character, during the course of a manga storyline, come into romantic involvement with someone else? Or, would this imply that the storyline would have to be adapted to whoever marries the character?
Additionally, how would they divide ownership of property if and when the man meets a girl, wants to marry her, but is told "He can't be married to two people at once"?
...that said, here are some pictures of my potential anime brides. What a wonderful life!
One's about 9, one's a doll, and one's a centuries-old super genius who, through the gift of cosmic understanding of science, can switch between child and adult forms for immense sexual potential. Additionally there's one of those badass street bitches who's long rumored to have a penis the size of a 5 year old's leg as well as a girl who's short, has a child like appearance and is addicted to anime and video games.
Incidently, my girlfriend in real life matches the description of the last girl (Konata, not Poison).
Yes, I understand what this reply may state about me, but a black man can dream, can't he?

Fictional characters also don't have their own emotions or their own say in things so I'm not sure how this whole "marrying a character" will work out. I'm also sure that this guy may not be the only fan who would want to marry said character.

Theres nothin dreamy about little girls.
I'm with Boggy, whats the point?
What does he hope to acheive.
Perhaps if he divorces a rich character the comic book company will have to pay up.
I'm sure people have been sent to mental institues for less than this.

And how.
I don't suppose his friends (assuming this guy even has any, let alone sane ones) have tried taking him to a strip club. Those are a dime a dozen in Tokyo, aren't they?

Jessica Rabbit is already married. To Roger Rabbit.
Quite a convenient match, as she didn't have to change her name to his.

One did once, but he was killed for it. I wonder if he would think his ideal ever climbed to the same height it did while wrapped in clouds and shone on by an eternal sun.

Ah... here comes. One of my 10 favorite "Honest" moments in Television. The storyline of the episode goes, "Martin Luther King didn't die, instead he went into a coma. Then, miraculously, he wakes up in present-day America".
