Director Joe Johnston has signed on to direct the upcoming "Captain America" film from Marvel Studios. Two rumored stars in line for the title role are Matthew McConaughey and Will Smith, and yes, Stan Lee has already given the nod to Will Smith (but why wouldn't he? The man prints cash).
Captain America on track for a 2011 release, third on a list of films coming from Marvel Studios in the coming years: Following "Thor" and "The Avengers".
Below is an artist's rendition of what fan reactions will be like when the movie finally lands.

Right around the 25-30 second mark, you will feel it too.

Jelly man.
wait, so who's will smith gonna play?
I don't know too much about Capt. America except the fact that his old video game ruled my fucking world.

if Aaron Eckhart wasn't already Harvey Dent he'd make the perfect Captain America, he has the most American-looking face I've ever seen, especially his jaw. If Matt Damon was bigger he'd be fantastic for it too, fuck Matthew McConaughey (see what I did there?) and Will Smith just straight up isn't right for the part (he was barely big enough to pull off Ali, how could he be the Cap? Also, his voice doesn't have the presence that Cap's does).

Meanwhile, I can see versatility and therefore am more than able to see McConaughey take on Captain America: Quite easily, I might add.

Remember, all the Hollywood pretty boys turn around and have great runs as tough guys. Brad Pitt, DiCaprio are two of the most recent "too pretty to get dirty" types that turned real rough over the years.

Doesn't that picture you posted show just how poorly that "tough guy" thing went for Matthew back in 2002? :-p
He has the look and could have the build for it, no doubt, but I have never seen him as a good actor. I think he's best in roles like "The Pecker" in Tropic Thunder

His best role was David Wooderson in Dazed and Confused.

His accent doesn't feel right though, even if he tries to sound normal...
I forgot which movie I really liked him at...
Captain america needs an actor with a good chin and someone willing to do most of the stunts.

Good call man, definite good call, I can see him fitting the character perfectly, face-wise.
