Do you guys like the new Guns n Roses? I sorta like it, but compare it to the stuff with the original members I hate it.

I've only heard Shackler's Revenge... I like it, but don't love it.
I haven't heard any of the new stuff but I can't imagine it lives up to the older stuff.

Haven't listened to it, i'm completely over Chinese Democracy, it's worse than Duke Nukem Forever.

I personally love the songs "Better" and "Madagascar", but I haven't heard much else.

Do youtube searches for just about ALL songs in the world. Chinese Democracy included.
I think the title track "Chinese Democracy" is a bit better than "Shackler's Revenge". I'm assuming "Madagascar" is the song that followed the movie Body of Lies? The movie was better than the song, but I do remember Madagascar being perhaps better than "Chinese Democracy", which is cool because it seems like we're hearing the tunes in "increasingly better" order.
One thing that is strange, they've mentioned two things about Chinese Democracy (which I covered in another thread that somehow wasn't as well understood as this one):
1) They said this would be 3-5 CDs long, yet we're getting a single disc release. They plan on it now being a "3-CD Series" to be released after one another (aka the "Grindhouse" approach, where if the original bundle would flop, you release each slice, potentially selling the same 1,000,000 copies to the same people 3 times, bumping up your revenue 3x over). I've even heard more recently that "this is it", this is simply the result of Axl Rose's extensive research and experimentation to, basically, sound like a more pop version of Nine Inch Nails. No way it'll outsell Appetite, which is funny, because that was technically their debut album and it has sold more alone than the rest of GnR's albums combined. As a matter of fact, it is the highest selling debut album of all time, all genres.
2) Free can of Dr. Pepper for everyone in the US except for Slash and Buckethead. How do we get this free can of soda? To be fair about it, Axl Rose stepped up with a pair of scissors and cut off this decade-long turd because I'm sure free Dr. Pepper is a badass promotional deal that can be tied into the album that they didn't have to pay for. Seriously, we've known about the release for a couple of months now, and yet, no word on when and where we can get our Dr. Pepper... you think there's a coupon inside the CD? And if so, are all the people that preordered on iTunes screwed? What about us modest pirates who have yet to discover a way to download Dr. Pepper, do we at least get half off a can for writing a good review on the album in an obscure message board somewhere?

No, the GnR song after Body of Lies was "If The World," which I think is pretty cool. Anybody expecting it to be anything like Appetite or old GnR needs to realise how long ago that stuff came out and how much music has changed since then. If Axl tried to stick with that stuff that's now like 2 decades old, he'd be worse off than he is now when he's at least keeping it quite relevant. It's not amazing, but I still think its got some cool sounds to it and has some payoff. "If the World," was also enhanced in coolness since it played after Body of Lies, which I loved.

I respect Axl wanting to continue doing music, but he's the last original member you can't keep the name.

...THAT is Madagascar? I was curious. I first heard it during the 2002 MTV Music Awards...

It starts around 2:45 after Axl Rose completely loses his breath after a whopping 90 seconds of Welcome to the Jungle.
I wish I lived over there so I could get my free bottle of Dr. Pepper.
