Have to admit - I like this new design. I can't really understand the issue so many people seem to take with these newer Trek designs. People hated the NX-01 Enterprise because it looked more advanced than the one in the old series despite being a century older - Honestly, though what were they to do, make the damned thing out of wood; perhaps make the central computer core a giant punch card machine? *We* have more advanced stuff than they had in the old series, and we still have around another 260 years to go! :) People complained about the space frame looking like the Akira - Nobody complains that dozens of ships in Trek have the same basic structure as the old series Enterprise. So they didn't throw out a perfectly usable space frame design, so nitpicky, so what. Now it's this Enterprise catching heat, and again, if we built the enterprise today, it'd still look more advanced than Kirk's, smoother, more advanced, the whole shebang. Would it have all the trimmings? Nope, no warp drives today, no practical forcefields, no teleporters, tons of tech doesn't exist yet, but we have 90% of it, and what we have is mostly more advanced than what Kirk used.

Looks better than the Enterprise verison (NX-01). I fucking hated that thing worse than Voyager. And I REALLY hate Voyager.

There's no possibly way outside of time travel that we would see Picard in this. And even then, only Picard? If Picard's there, I gotta have LaForge, Riker, and Worf at least.

Spock looks like he played football (possibly quarterback) and the hair-do doesn't fit. Other than then I'll bootleg it. I wouldn't dare go to the theaters to see it for fear of public humiliation.

I like the new Enterprise design. Also, after watching the trailer the other day, I can't wait for the movie. It looks like it's going to inject a healthy dose of bad-ass into the franchise, though I've always been a bit of a Trekkie since the original series. (Never cared for Deep Space Nine at all, got bored with Voyager after the first season, and never had any interest in Enterprise. I guess it's just the original series and TNG for me.)
