Well, got myself a 1993 Subaru WRX (GC8) yesterday since I sold the GT-FOUR RC a couple weeks ago. This car is hands down better in almost every way over the RC. Just have a fucking boost leak I think or something needs to be cleaned. The car is all jerky at 5krpm and up. 137,000km on it. All maintenance records except they are in Japanese....now I need a Japanese speaking friend lol.

Hahaha I think so. The only RC that I managed to find was black so I didn't get much choices there. And this was the best shape WRX that I was able to find.
As far as it being jerky I have been reading and found that it may actually be the spark plugs which would be nice because its an easy fix. Or even the fuel that we have here in Alberta which is only 91 octane. I guess this car is tuned from factory for 98-100ron. I am gonna stop in at a tuning shop tomorrow and see what I can get done.
Your steering wheel is on the wrong side.

Haha that's what makes it unique.
I seemed to find a solution to my misfire. A couple other guys with JDM wrx's had the same issue and had to change the coil packs. I will also get a 91 or 92 octane tune sometime though.

Lucky Subaru's are very easy to work on and last forever. I like the location of your boost gauge, A-pillar gauge pods are ugly and played out. Nice ride, I have a lot friends with early body style Imprezas that have done engine swaps. All the parts from the newer cars bolt right in with little modification.
P.S. Rallycross it or I will beat you like a red headed step child.
P.S.S looks like you got the bad ass "wild print" seats. more pix please!
P.S.S.S. The new wrx's dont like cold air intakes, the MAF wont read the meterted air correctly and cause the car to stumble. Not sure if the older ones are like that too?
Your steering wheel is on the wrong side.
I would sell myself into sexual slavery to find a Euro style WRX.
Not joking.
Nice find... please make sure to burn through as much gas and tread as possible. :)

Haha I may do a rally cross once I get the car the way I want it. Needs work since its 15 years old. And yes they are actually pretty easy to work on which I appreciate after having a damn ST185rc.
Yeah the seats are awesome, I will get your more pictures as soon as I can. Probably Saturday. Doing all the fluids tomorrow with high quality Motul.
As far as the intakes, not sure. Like I said the car is misfiring right now since its in need of new coil packs which are in the mail now. I ordered 04 Sti ones which I am going to convert to work on my engine. Just a bit or wiring but will be way better and more reliable. When I get my car tuned I will find out if that intake is good or bad. Like common, its HKS lol.
Paz, which euro style are you referring to anyways? Bug eyed models???

Are you even allowed to drive that in Canada with the steering wheel on the opposite side? Or are you not very close to the the center of Alberta or something?

Haha, yes this car is legal. I have it registered and insured. There are actually a fair bit of right hand drive cars from Japan in my city which only has 90,000 people.

Yeah this body style is amazing. Its the lightest of them all, only 2700lbs :)
Well just flushed the coolant so it can survive the Canadian winter. Installed a block heater that way I can actually start it when its -30. Changed the tranny fluid and diffs. Gotta get a new battery as well. Still need to get a new idle pully and possibly a new accessory belt. Doing the coil packs as soon as they arrive in the mail, obviously doing the spark plugs at the same time.
I'm not driving it now, its just parked on the street till I get them coil packs, don't want to hurt the engine.

is it true over in states (also presuming canada) that they dump SALT on the roads for the ice? i wouldnt even drive me pride & joy in the winter months talk about a rust bucket after a coupla yrs
Yes they salt the roads in the winter. It sucks for the cars but it's better then driving on a giant sheet of ice all winter. If you wash it every couple weeks though and get all that salt off it shouldn't be to much of an issue but washing your car when its below freezing really sucks and care needs to be taken so your doors don't freeze shut.
I live in the U.S. but I would assume they salt the roads in Canada as well but maybe Canada does it different as it gets so cold up there that salt water will still freeze. I live in Illinois it doesn't get that cold here.

Risk getting rust on your car, or have an 18-wheeler jack knife and mangle your face... tough choice.

Yeah they dump salt on the roads here. They use huge amounts in the east though compared to the west where I live. Lucky for me, it gets so cold here that salt isn't that effective anymore so they don't use as much. Mostly just a sand and salt mix. My nice black cars still turn white :(. My Prelude has absolutely no rust yet and its been through many hardcore winters.
The Subaru already has rust under the paint. Its all bubbly in a few areas around the car. I plan on painting it in the spring if I have some extra cash after selling the Prelude.

Haha, still reviewing my options. I actually found a one gas station with one pump that sells 94 octane finally in my city of 100,000k! So I can hold off on a tune. I am gonna look into swapping a newer sti engine into it. That way I could possibly flash the ecu for one to save on buying a stand alone. And two, lower mileage engine and tranny swap which will also have a lot higher hp and tq and most likely be better all around. Front mount is something I will do at some point. Turbo lol, well the stock is good since I gotta get the car running proper now haha.
You got great taste in cars, my friend.
Thx man, I try ;)

Just a couple from the first snowfall we had a few weeks ago. I just bought some new Michelin Wiper blades which I am gonna be putting on this afternoon. Also got a brand new free red top Optima battery from work, someone returned it and they were just gonna send it back to the battery company. I said fuck that and will be installing it in the Subaru. $170 battery ftw!
EDIT: The damn squeal became permanent today so I brought it to the garage me and some friends are renting and on the way there my gauges started to dim and not work, then in the back alley I realized all the lights were dimmed so bad. So I pulled it in and left it running and sprayed the alternator pulley with WD-40 to try and find the noise, and it went away for a couple seconds and started again. I did it again and same thing. So I had to pull the alternator out and also found out that the belt is like shredded so that needs to be changed too(Obviously).
So yeah, its parked for a day while I go and round up those parts tomorrow.
And on top of that, some asshole who lives in the house, decided to park in front of the door which is at the back alley and blocked it. He knew I was in there and parked right in the way so i couldn't get out even if I wanted to. So I unplugged his block heater from the wall for his POS truck. Good luck to him for trying to start his truck in the morning haha! (Its -29celcius now :))

They dump ass loads of salt on the roads here in Michigan. Long as you wash your car down every week you will be ok.

Here are those seat pictures that were requested. Took me a while to get the pictures on my computer because I've been a slack ass.

Installed the new 2004 STI coils and a new set of plugs yesterday! Now I can can run the stock 14psi instead of the 7psi max before misfire I had before. SOOO much better haha.
Here's a funny story. Last night I was ripping through the Costco parking lot just to test out my new coils and I was going about 50km/h in the side that was empty. The entire parking lot is packed snow and it just snowed a bunch more. Anyways, I decided to pin it while going pretty fast to go around a curb island thing and the car spun a bit and shot right over the damn curb!!! Blew the sidewall on the back tire! Damn, so had to buy a couple new winter tires for the back.... I learned not to fuck around even if no one but a curb is around lol.
But its parked now till I can get it tuned because its detonating on 94oct still...
