The big news in the world of nerd today: the death of Batman. Mad Scotsman/genius writer Grant Morrison says he will kill off the Caped Crusader in the final issue of "Batman RIP," which hits stands tomorrow (Wednesday).

James Buchanan "Bucky" Barnes became Captain America after Steve Rogers died, it was at the request of Rogers who left a letter with Tony Stark (Iron Man). It says that despite his demise the world still needs Captain America. Bucky uses the trademark Captain America shield but has a different uniform and carries a pistol and knife.

I knew he was replaced. I didnt know the details to that extent. But regardless, Steve Rogers, in character as Captain America, was shot by a sniper rifle and killed. That, to me, counts as a significant characters death. Regardless of some bum carrying on his name.

They mentioned that Bruce is DEAD, but there will be another guy dressing up as Batman... Bruce was pretty friggin cool, but who knows... Maybe the next guy will be betterererererrr... Interesting shat!

Doesn't matter, as long as the hero exists no one will care because no one but nerds really notices that kind of esoterica .

He'll come back. He's too good to kill off. There will be a guy to take on his mantle then Bruce Wayne will eventually come to take it back. They do it all the time. They have to. He's too good to kill off and the mask will always be there to so they can infinitely continue the story.

I got totally burned out over two years ago on this stuff.

Even if Bruce dies in this continuity, comics have a billion other continuities with him alive and beating up the bad guys in. Insert yet another multi dimension crisis in the DC universe and BAM! Bruce is back alive and kicking in the "proper" cannon.
