Fatal Frame 4 Release Date

Calling it Fatal Frame over here is probably gonna confuse a load of people. Still, it's good to see this one hasn't fallen by the wayside.

I don't know what to think regarding a US release at the moment since NOA is taking a dumb-as-hell wait and see approach to Disaster: Day of Crisis stating it will only find a US release if it does well in Europe. I'm guessing the same idea has befallen Fatal Frame IV as well.

The Fatal Frame games are known as Project Zero in Europe, and Zero in Japan.

Yeah, my opinion of Nintendo has really been declining the last few months, especially with NOA specifically. For quite a while after it released, the Wii was seen in a really positive light by hardcore gamers. But since Brawl there has not been a single release worth getting excited about for someone like myself. I can honestly say that since this spring I've had a much better overall gaming experience just from WiiWare games than from retail Wii games. Unfortunately, there's no way to deliver an epic, 20-hour, story-driven adventure in a WiiWare game. Thinking about it, it's sad that my only hope right now for filling that desire is a game like Disaster: Day of Crisis, but even the chances of that seem to be dwindling day by day.

Now rumors of the game getting a possible name change have risen.

At the moment, all the rumors are pointing towards the possibility that Nintendo may not be publishing the game for the states. The recently released Nintendo 2009 launch list somewhat confirms that statement.

The list also questions the European release of Fatal Frame 4. Play.com (http://www.play.com/Games/Wii/4-/6080093/Fatal-Frame-IV-The-Mask-Of-The-Lunar-Eclipse/Product.html) still has it listed for February 6.

Shopto (http://www.shopto.net/page.php?page=dettagli&codart=WIIFATALFRAMEIV&n=Fatal%20Frame%20IV%3A%20The%20Mask%20Of%20The%20 Lunar%20Eclipse&platform=WII) also had the game listed for Feb 6 in Europe, but has recently changed the date to June. Which is not surprising since no word was ever said of the game coming to Europe(besides the preview article in ONM). So we should expect Play.com to change their date sometime soon.
