MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 19, 2004--After unpacking from this year's big E3 Expo in Los Angeles, the editors at Game Informer, the nation's leading computer and video game magazine, have picked the Top 10 Games at E3.
"We saw some exciting titles at E3 this year, but Halo 2 was the standout 'Game of the Show,'" said Andy McNamara, editor-in-chief of Game Informer. Yeah, but they were comparing games, not videos!
Splinter Cell 3 not listed as a GCN game.
Bummer (not that I care ... but still a blow).

Halo 2 is number 1? I'm not all that surprised since Game Informer is basically an Xbox mag. Course I haven't really seen the Halo 2 vid yet so I guess someone'll consider my opinion null and void.

your a dissapointment
Look if your against having Halo 2 as the number one game of the show, fine, but saying Game Informer is an Xbox biased magazine is without a doubt the most ridicolous thing I have heard in a while.
Im waiting for Halo 2 just as much as anyone, but having it at number one is a little too much considering it is the games second appearence at E3. They didnt show anything you werent already expecting. But whatever, it will still be a truly awesome game no doubts there.

Halo 2 is sooo overrated I dont understand why.
its quite simple really.
1) Halo is a killer-ap
2) Halo still sells well
3) Halo has a rabid fan base
4) Halo is fun to play alone
5) Halo is even better w/friends
6) XBox Live is a blast to play no matter the game
7) FPS on XBL have been some of the most played games on the service
8) Halo 2 has XBL
9) Halo 2 supposed to be better than Halo, so the 1 - 5 are made better.
Does anyone not remember the hype around MGS2? It was a hype machine. Much the same was as Halo 2.
while you may not agree with the reasons i have provied -probably mostly due to difference in tastes- the XBox is a FPS haven. While Doom III, and HL 2 are lookin like great games... Halo 2 has just...."wowed" people.
Think about it, who expected Animal Crossing to be such a success in the US? I know i didn't. -although i did end up gettin it day 1. Who expected Halo to be such an outstanding game on the XBox? Not I, thats for sure.

yeah pretty much, but since the mgs2, and halo came out same time...i though id use them.
This might be a stupid question, but do any of you know If Half-Life 2 will feature online multiplayer? Im assuming it does but I have never heard any of the journalist report anything about a Multiplayer mode thusfar.

My guess would be no, I think the multiplayer would come from Counter-strike 2, atleast for the PC. I could be wrong, never been a big HL fan, and since I've never heard anything about HL or HL2 multiplayer, I'm assuming CS2 is the multiplayer part.

Half-life had a online multiplayer, it was the best aspect of the game so it would be safe to guess it will return...

Half-Life is a mod-maker's wet dream, and I'm pretty sure Valve said they'll have tools available for when HL2 is released.
Good points but didn't MGS2 pale comapred to the original MGS?
Nope, That sir is incorrect. MGS2 dwarfs MGS in every single aspect. The only reason its so heavily frowned upon(myself included) is because of a bad decision in regards to replacing Snake with a crappy character. However its technical superiority is not to be denied, not to mention the story is very deep, to deep for some people.

so far Halo 2 is exciting me ALOT more then LoZ, and i love gamecube more then xbox. why then, am i more intrested in Halo 2? Because of their coverage of it. We have so much information, its so close to release date and is looking so good that it intrests me more then the LoZ !!!!AT THE MOMENT!!!!. if nintendo give us more then what the other zelda games have shown us (the footage shows better graphics but the only thing new was the fighting on horse back) i might be more intrested. Of course, even if it plays like OoT or even WW it will still be a must buy.
Also PC had better games then all the systems like Rome: Total War and Half-Life 2, which could beat a couple of the games up their.

MGS2 was gameplay wise better, but the first time i played MGS was a much more fulfilling experience. Also, MGS had a better story line In My Opinion. And yeah, Raiden sux. The president thought he was a girl so grabed him and even his Girl friend thinks he had a sex change!

In my opinion that's not a bad round-up. I will probably prefer Zelda to Halo 2 but I know a lot of people won't, (plus I am biased to Nintendo.) I would also have probably put Resident Evil 4 above metroid but that's just cause I'm more excited about Resident Evil as it's a totally new playing style. Don't know about a couple of the PS2 games but I don't keep that up to date with PS2 so I can't really judge. I also agree that Splinter Cell should be above Metal Gear.

Sorry, I'm not unsure about the PS2 games, it's just that Jade Empire that I'm unsure about. But that's just coz I haven't seen much on it.

I like Halo 2 but not that much as to put it above all the other games. RE:4 is my #1 fave so far.

In my opinion, Halo 2 shouldnt even be on there, Zelda should be number one and not Halo 2. Im also glad Metal Gear made it on there

That's just about how I would put it, except SC3 and MGS3 be a little bit higher up there...
What about KOTOR 2? Or was that not shown at E3?
