Over the weekend I decided to to complete the PSWii60 with the last missing component, the PS3. I picked up the 160 GB version (which came with Uncharted and a DL voucher for PAIN) along with Infamous, Killzone 2, and the complete set for Rock Band 2.

This is my first Sony console. My console gaming history goes back to the Atari 2600 and original NES. Afterwards I was a long time PC gaming until finally picking up the first Xbox. Now, I have all three consoles of this generation.

So far, I am loving my new PS3. My PSN is WolfmanNCSU, feel free to leave me a message or hit me up for a game.

Finally, all the people are getting a PS3.

Good game choice, Killzone and Uncharted will impress you for sure.

I have installed it and created a quick avatar, but have not digged any further than that for now. I have just been in my crib and in the main plaza so far.

HOME was one of the things that attracted me about the PS3 - I am starting a new job two weeks from today with a gaming company that builds virtual worlds such as HOME.

personally i would opt to enter Xi before you do anything else and use all the other spaces as distractions from that. it's interesting that you say HOME attracted you to the PS3 (although it seems a pretty subjective reason) i wouldn't have thought it was a system seller yet, but perhaps we'll see more posts like yours in the coming months... especially if Sony ADVERTISE HOME!!!

If you have a chance check out Xi. It's the blue circle in the main plaza on the apartment building.

Well, HOME wasn't the main selling point for me - the big thing was Bluray and PS exclusive titles. But HOME is very exciting for me (of course my opinion is biased due to its relationship with my new job).

If you are at all interested in older games you should check out the Playstation 2 board. There's a thread for Playstation games and Playstation 2 games that a lot of us have recommended/we like.

For PS3 I recommend:

Resistance: Fall of Man
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, good choice
Grand Theft Auto IV, if not played already
Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots
Little Big Planet
Street Fighter IV
Killzone 2, good choice

I thought the current PS3 models are not backwards compatible, hardware nor software...?

Personally, Home... Not a fan.

Just had this whole idea we'd be sitting around in our custom apartments, watching movies, drinking virtual beer, talking trash... Doesn't work like I imagined it.

Oh ya.. I forgot lol. I have a 60 GB, mine is B/C full lol, sry >.>

I'm not sure of the specs for the 160 GB model. If it doesn't play PS2 games then if you'd like pick up a PS2 slim if you want to play PS2 games. There's a newly designed PS2 slim also, only 99 USD :D

I want to pick up one myself eventually lol. A third PS2 >.>

PS1 games should work perfect on any PS3 though, just like on a PS2.

Except Singstar, but you do need a PS3 version to be able to play most Singstar discs (I think Country is not supported).

This should be merged with the other thread like it.
