I have and N-Gage, and the games are smaller than that, and I haven't lost any yet *knocks on wood*
Really, don't worry about it, you won't lose them. Just keep them somewhere you'll remember, like a desk drawer or something, and don't take them out unless you want to play them.

now what if they used this technology but used a gbalike cartrage (and use the extra space to increase memory or w/e they need to)?
Michael
05-30-2004, 08:18 PM
They could even make the current DS cartrage more powerful...they were planning on doing if for the 64, that's the one advantage of the cartrage systems...

Were you drunk when you bought this "N-Gage"
Hahaha, no I wasn't. I had a lot of money last summer. I was in EB looking at the ads and the manager showed me his, which he got for free, and I was suckered into buying one. It really isn't as bad as everyone says. It's not great for gaming, but it's a cool device. I didn't have a cell phone or MP3 player, and I really wanted both, and it also plays video games, so I figured hey why not, and I'm still happy with it.

Think of the older GBA. It will be just a lil bigger and it will open up. Thats the closest I can explain the size.

I like the small cartrages. It's great how you can put so many things in something that small. Which is why the GCN is so cool. And so are the disks. I love them. Smaller is better. Except in on case, where bigger is always better.

06-20-2004, 09:48 AM
If you can fit five of something in your asshole it's too small. Oh well, I've yet to lose a single GBA game, so I'll be fine. I'll keep them in my GCN's modem port, not like it's going to get any use.
Shoxx
06-20-2004, 02:18 PM
MSRP is rumored to be somewhere between $150-$200. But we're not expecting anything over that.
I like, too, how so much can be fit on something that small. For such a small package, it delivers a lot, as far as graphics and things go.

They aren't THAT small. In height they are the same as the GBA cartridges, only in length they are smaller. If you look at one of the pics, you can see a comparison between the two. Plus I never lose my GBA games. Since they are smaller I just buy some old Game Boy cases, so I can keep my games in them. Simple. I'll probably do the same for the DS.

I think the size of the DS is too big to be a good portable handheld.
Michael
07-05-2004, 09:21 PM
people do get fooled with the size of the handheld...mostly because many people on the net use pasted pictures of the ds and a hand...
http://www34.brinkster.com/generationixd/hey-joe-what-do-you-know-20040625060402520.jpg
This is fake...and it appears alot bigger then it really is..I'll have the real size in a sec...but it will fit in your pocket, just not like the sp....and another thing is that the design isn't finalized, so it could end up being smaller then this, but not bigger because they already smashed it down in that case.

Where are you going to get the actual size and how do you know it's reliable?
Serene Samus
07-06-2004, 02:41 AM
Isn't the change on the DS going to be, like, an extra slot for the stylus? Pathetic, if that's true. I don't mind the design, but I think it can look a lot sw33ter.
Michael
07-06-2004, 06:09 AM
Where are you going to get the actual size and how do you know it's reliable?
I'm going to get screen shots from E3, so you know the size already...besides, look at the detail in the picture...you'll notice that the detail is very rich for portable, it's to rich and deep...the picture was taken from a high end TV or a plasma screen...and from a reliable one of my sources
The screens on the Nintendo DS will be 3 inches each, about the size of an existing GameBoy screen
- seattlepi
Now, the Sp is is big enough to hold one screen at the bottom, and the other on top...and the size for closed or open the exact same as Sp, making the hand in the picture to small to ever be real...now when you add the buttons and Dpad on the side you will get approximatly 1 1/2 inches added to it on each side..I really couldn't find a picture, but I'll keep looking...
Edit: btw, the outline of the ds is about the size of sp...the black part in the middle...but it's still not really as big as the sp...
Now looks at the picture I posted of the sp...you really can complain about the ds as much...unless your hand is small...you will still be able to hold the Ds in one hand...I hope you people see that...

More accurately, a Secure Digital Flash card, which they are base off of.
Look and observe.

The N-Gage and Zodiac both use smaller cards than the GBA...so what is so insane about the DS using smaller cards. I just looks like Nintendo jumped on the band wagon of using flash memory.
