Hardest Zelda of All Time?

Well what do you people think? What WAS the most difficult Zelda game, which really challenged your mind with the most complex puzzles? Vote for ONE and leave your opinions and thoughts.

Personally I think Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past was the most difficult.

Haven't played Zelda 2 or Oracle of Seasons. So with those excluded, I say Oracle of Ages. With A Link to the Past and Majora's Mask tied for second.

Wow, tough question. I haven't played the Oracle games in years. I remember the water dungeon in one of them was a real pain in the ass, but I don't remember which one it was.

You're right about that to a degree. Most of the Zeldas have medium challenge. The original and the second are high in challenge, but the rest are pretty middle of the road.

I've played and beaten all of them, so I know what I'm saying when I say Zelda 2 was probably the most difficult one.

Yeah, I've played and beaten all of them also... none were that hard at all...but as a series 2 i guess was the hardest yet not that hard... but dont get me wrong...thats not to say i dont like them ... I love the series there just not that challenging....

I've also beaten them all, and upon further consideration I'm going to vote for the original LOZ. I was kind of juggling between a few of them, but I have to go with this one. Think about it...the first time I played it there was no internet or player's guides, and there are a lot of secrets that are really hard to find unless you really know the game. And level 9 is so f-ing hard to navigate, even after beating it more times than I can count. Then again, the finaly dungeon in LOZ 2 is pretty crazy too.

MagicJuggler, Well seeing its not a "Legend of Zelda" title, and thats why I did not include it..not a complex matter. It's not a "difficult zelda game" because its not a zelda game. I believe Link is in it though, I see no Zelda. Try.. difficult "fighting game".

I picked Zelda II because it was annoying and frusturating. The original comes in second. I thought all the other ones were fairly easy.

Ive played and beaten all of them too, and I know what IM saying when I say A Link to the Past was the hardest. Zelda 2 just wasnt very clear at all in terms of your objectives. But in terms of enemy/puzzle difficulty, ALLTP was the most challenging.

Yet Link's Awakening, Oracle of Seasons, and Oracle of Ages did not have Zelda in them either, and they're considered Zelda games. Oh well...I put Ocarina of Time, because it took me the longest to beat (I beat Majora's Mask in two days, WITHOUT a handbook).

Majoras mask is definately the hardest, i have had it for several years and still havent completed it yet.The idea of time travel puts a whole new degree of difficulty on it.

I just beat LttP. It has a nice difficulty that at time can surpass the newer games' difficulties. I would have to say Zelda II thought, because I just gave up on that game.

Zelda II The Adventure of Link was definitely the most difficult, followed by A Link to the Past.

The least difficult were Wind Waker and Majora's Mask.

links awakining is so tough, I have beaten it but going back after a few years it's a tough game, the dungeons are wicked hard and the super small screen adds tothe challenge

Adventure of Link, unlike the new games,they don't have some mentor character to guide you, and Link fought like a pussy, making enemies tough.

Just a sidenote, the Oracle games were GBC.

Zelda 2, and a Link to the Past were both difficult for me. I've not played all of them, though. So it's difficult to say.

The easiest for me was Ocarina of Time and Wind Waker. Majora's Mask coming in a little further because the time constraint really made me nervous in spots. =/

Yea. I belive that because even IGN agrees. It had the hardest puzzles, and with the new technolegy Nintendo got then helped make the puzzles even harder.

I have to say I bursted up laughing so many times in the beggining. You kill a guy and they go.. Ohh.. you killed me... Then when zelda's arroudn she says something like good all innocent like. It was pretty funny...

The gameplay was a sequal to Legend of Zelda II and it wasn't as good. I didn't like that for the series to begin with... The made link a total jerk...(action whise)

The game was actually mediocre but once you see the cutscenes..and you see linke in make-up and lipstick... It's hard to continue playing..

CD-i Zelda games are not real Zelda games. they are the by-product of Phillips failing to make a console with nintendo yet somehow being allowed to make a game with nintendo characters.

And Majora's Mask was the hardest IMO
