the DS v.s. the PSP

Ah, SONY now challanges NINTEDO in NINTENDO biggest industry.... (DAmn you SONY.... DAMN YOU!)... Oki anyway.......

So What do you guys think as a Nintendo fan, im betting all my cash on the DS, but SONY really seems to be winning over gamers with their
` Game consoles that are supposed to have everything from DVD to a tooth pick`...... While Nintendo are harcore game developers.......
Of course Nintendo is much more reliable in hand held..... BUT!

Remember years agom, abxk in the good old SNES days..... Nintendo was God until Nintendo made mistakes, and threw the ball over to SONY.....

-DO any of you think that the PSP has a chance against the DS?
-DO any of you think that Nintendo, will make the same mistake again?

Hell ya, PSPis just to much. Of course PSP is a nice gaget and veery nice looking, but so is the ds. The DS is built only for games while PSP is multi-porpose. Only PS fans will get PSP and Nintendo fans will get DS, winning over fans is not possible.

Nintendo just has to wow people enough.

Like Nintendo's been saying all along: They're being innovative, and Sony's just expanding on what already exists. And it's so true. DS is going to be way better. I'm not going to spend $200+ on a portable PS2, been there, done that. I want something new.

I wouldn't be surprised if the PSP's screen getting damaged was common. With such a large screen, the center of it may be fairly supceptible to pressure. And it's designed to be portable.

i've talked with many sony fans and not too many are liking the PSP
....with the cost and battery life being the huge "NO" factor.

i have some friends who are xbox fanboys who love gba sp, and some might look into ds. couple of my cousins only have ps2's an gba sps, one of em is interested in psp. me personally, i jus want the next gameboy and thas it. i do personally belive the psp will sell a lot though, in japan any way, the near 1000 US$ ps2/dvd burner (PSX) sold almost 100 000 copies in its first week (read that in an EGM)

Then failed right after that. Miserably. I'll get the sales results for it again soon but last I read, it sold less than 200,000 since release and its considered a failure and may not even come here or Europe now.

Thats because the industry goes on stats and not on faith. All of us Nintendo fans know that Nintendos best years are just starting. But the gaming industry has lost faith and the DS will be a rude awakening. I just hope companys like Capcom will reap most of the reward so as Nintendo can show their appreciation for Capcoms loyalty.

saying ds is just for games isnt a good thing. just because a console can play dvds or mp3s or wipe your arse or something doesnt mean its games are any worse. saying that they are focusing on games is just a lame excuse for not being able to do shit. [how many times have i said that. got to be about 4 threadfs by now ^_^]

^I don't agree...many cars are coming out with 2 radio's, and the second even has a Cd player with it's own set of head phones...having to "Buy a specialized mini-disk," for everything and still having to pay 100 dollars more is a horrible decision..as I said before, if you think the psp is better because of the features your not trying...tomarrow, nintendo could say-the Ds will be able to store 10 gigabits of info, and connect to a computer so you can download music to it...or the more realistic, a company makes a online store and you get a blank cartrage to store the music on it...the Ds, is more practical...though they said they won't add these features, other people didn't say that now did they...Hell, a pda format could even be made, with a gig of info/memory...the Ds is more versitle, as such it can do a crap-load of things the psp can do, and even better, a crapload of things it can near do...

Edit: now run down the costs....all special media the takes people to online stores around 5$....Pda stuff...about 30$(just because it's microsoft)...you'd be paying around twice maybe triple the amount for the psp in the end...though, I know they would have to make this stuff, I know they will because there is great amount of potential profit in this system...

I don`t really feel, that Capcom is very loyal to Nintendo..... (Ok, so Resident evil 4 GC oki, I don`t play the game, but I don`t underestimate the series, however, PN05, Viewtiful Joe (Which was suposed to be a GC exclusive and came for the PS2 for some odd reson...). And the other few games Capcom are realising for the GC, are EXPERIMENTAL games.... Sure Capcom claims they want to blow Nintendo more into the `ADULT` world of gaming, but thet are experimental, and if they do good like viewtiful Joe, they will come for the PS2, sad but true...... Although Namco, and Sega seem to still be loyal.....

But then again, Nintendo is more reliable when It comes to hand heldsa, everyone knows that.... And Like I stated earlier, lets just hope, that Nintendo doesn`t make another Mistake, and throws this ball to SOny as well.......

I figured nobody in their right mind would pay 300 dollars for a friggin console. I was way wrong. I got a Gamecube based on the Nintendo brand and not on the cost but if the GC was 300, i would not have bought it.
