Im betting most of these are Sony games because it was about this time last year in December when Sony started showing big reveals. Im expecting something from Jaffe's team at the very least.

Technically, the talks between sony and mozilla did happen, but there was never a mention from our insider that it was about porting firefox over to ps3. i fucked up and assumed that's what it meant (our insider often speaks to us with riddles and such, making us guess the answers ourselves, so i thought this was another case of me having to fill in the blanks myself). for all we know, sony could simply have approached mozilla for advice on the current browser.

either way, this site contacted a company about an unannounced project and got a "no"... what's so surprising about that? and how does it debunk the rumor?

My thoughts: the insider has real knowledge/has his own inside source, but between his cryptic messages and the possibility that his info isn't first hand, it's more like playing a game of telephone than getting a scoop from "Deep Throat."

For example, I suspect "new PSN" was a place-holder term for the coming premium service. Just because nothing was announced at TGS doesn't mean the info was incorrect, merely that Sony's roll-out plans changed or the insider himself misunderstood the info he received. When a "Premium PSN" is announced, we may not even recognize it as something we'd call "new PSN," but that may be the exact wording Sony used internally or that our source was told.

Ya these insider things are annoying. Not only does it seem like their words can be misinterpreted, but it's not even for sure if their intended message is correct either.

Doesn't it make sense to send your insider a preview of the article first? If he has the time to tell you why it's wrong only soon after the fact, surely he can 'correct' in the same manner of time as well before publishing on the main site lol.

Also I thought of a third (sort of) reason why the telephone can be borked: Mr. Insider X could also be no good at making cryptic messages.

Anyways... Sony wouldn't NEED to ask Mozilla anything anyways, since it is GPL2/3 software anyways. BUT, it would be NICE to do so, and Mozilla could actually help. Plus... we know how trustworthy these companies are (there will be no new DS (a day before the DS Lite was announced)...)

And... I guess porting it shouldn't actually be all that hard. I mean, the mobile version already runs on Nokia mobile phones (as well as Windows Mobile) and doesn't cost a dime. Just port it and be done with it (well, you have to release your added code too, but that doesn't really matter anyways).

Maybe it's called "broken telephone" in Euroland, but stateside we don't presume the telephone will break until it does . Then we just put some duct tape on it, spit, and go back to eating ourselves obese.
