Couldnt they just run a background program off the memorystick that outputs all video and control through the usb 2.0 port?

may be completely useless, yet this demonstrates PSP's flexibility. techies are really into PSP because it gives them all these possibilities.

That totally defeats the point of the PSP. Get a PS2 if you want to watch Playstation games on a tele. PLaystation PORTABLE... enough said

Having said that, if this isn't temporary and you can't use your PSP as a portable then it's the dumest thing that I've ever came across. |

^no, it requires no soldering......
and also, take into consideration the video capabilites of the PSP...then this thing should look very useful to PSP owners. |

Well most of the PSP games are already on the PS2. With the exception of a couple of titles. But other than that, they are just the samething with different names. |

Um, actually I think you'll find that in the FUTURE there will be quite a lot of original titles released on the PSP.
That's only half the point that I'm trying to make anyway. I said that there are sometimes when I'd like to play MY psp on MY TV. So that in itself, is a good enough reason for me to hook it up to my TV. |

I totally forgot that we'll be able to watch UMD's on TV now as well. Not that I'd bother with UMD movies, but it's nice to know that I can.

Or...why not watch your favorite video on TV that you have on the PSP?
Or....internet browse on TV? other than that, those are the best things you can do

how will the games look on the bigger screen?
i thought that they only looked better than PS2 games because the screen was smaller. if thats the case, you may aswell just play PS2. i know graphics arent everything, but beautiful graphics is one of the strongest arguments that most PSP fans make. wouldnt it just seem hypocritical if those fans support this device even though it could ruin the beauty that they so strongly defend? |

another slight clarification; if the games have the exact name of their console equivilant, then yes, they are identicle. if there is a name change, then you know that there is a difference. it may be slight or big, but something will be there. there are of course titles that will have added features with no name change like the latest X-Men game on PSP (check its thread for more info). examples: Burnout Revenge (PS2) and Burnout Legends (PSP) - 8 days to E3's killer! |

It looks like it might be taking power from the PSP...how does that work out? I suppose you would already have it plugged in at home, so battery life doesn't matter.
But, if I have to replace the faceplate, I hope my PSP will still fit in my playgear pocket; it doesn't look like it, though. ![]() I've seen recent PSP accessory prices lately; I hope this doesn't go past the $50 mark.

With this system, you still need to own a PSP so it's not a PSP Player a la the GameBoy Player.

I believe the PS3 may either have the function built in to do so or is working on a Player for it. The PS2 with dual models may be difficult to design for and I'm not sure it even has the proper input device for it either.
