"The Playstation 3 is a very powerful machine that will be great for consumers wanting a high-tech and high definition driven machine, with many capabilities. The system is very complicated for developing games, so it might take a while for developers to get used to the system. I would recommend the Playstation 3 for consumers that are very interested in different types of multimedia. For consumers that are buying it only for the games, you will feel somewhat ripped off. There isn't really that much of a difference between the system and the previous one, except the graphics will be better and you there won't be multiple disks for some games. I can also see around only 20-30 games per year for it. For those consumers, I would highly recommend the Microsoft Xbox 360, and the upcoming Nintendo [codename] Revolution."

I don't know about all that, but atlus is a pretty prominent RPG publisher and supported the ps2 heavily. Not good publicity at all.

Don't panic guys, other devs have had nothing but praise so perhps this guys just isn't a very good dev so it's hard to just HIM.

That entire paragraph is a laugher, but based on the bolded remark alone Im skeptical this was even quoted in Edge. Is there a source that this is legit? Because Id like to see it. I cant see even the most pessimistic person in the industry unfavorable toward Sony's platform predicting something quite that inane.

Yeah but Atlus is a huge supporter of the ps2 giving it many rpgs. I wonder what this means for PS3 support.

I think this is smoke, I don't believe there is any truth to that rumour, I believe someone on some forum, most likely GAF made that up. Seriously some of those comments are unprofessional and childish, I doubt anyone from Atlus ever said that.

Why would someone on GAF make this up? GAF is mostly pro Sony.

30 games a year?!? Come on! You know there will probably be that many cross platform games released per year for the system.

That tells me they are just pissed about not being able to afford the higher dev costs for the PS3. All these devs are whining about dev costs, but are in an industry that rakes in more cash than film. They bitch and whine about having to spend a mere fraction of the hundreds of millions of dollars that are spent producing films. And a big budget is not required to make a good game. Just like in the movie business, where every now and then a low budget indie film comes out that makes millions, with the right ammount of talent devs can do the same.

Yeah I definetly need to see a magazine scan before believing that one. To say that about the PS3 is almost as bad as that Duke Nukem producer dissing the Revolution. It's just stupid people saying stupid things. (The 20-30 games part)

I still can't see Atlus developing only for the Revolution or 360, this just reeks of fake.

Oh wait, and why would they say that developers should go 360 in that paragraph? They're going with the better graphics/no innovation battleplan too. Did I miss something?

Lol...I know. That doesn't seem like a statement a veteran developer would make. Shit..theres probably more than 20 companys making more than one game each for the PS3. I need proof before I believe this. :thumbsdow

Oh, yeah PS3 is a huge ripoff, you only get a Processer that is far more powerful than a computer's CPU costing 1000's of $, a GPU that is gods gift to gamers and is set to be the most powerful GPU on the planet and a BD drive and the ability to run 2 1080p HDTV's at once all for the insanely high price of less than $399 US!

And how can PS3 only get 20 - 30 games a year? there are 160 or something that are in developement (last i looked which was months ago) has better support than PS2 ever had and is easier to develope for than the PS2 and look how many 1000's of games are on PS2 and even M$ is admitting that the PS3 will be hugely successful, obviously this is just some joke or bribe from M$ doing it's job.
