My God, My dad just bought a xbox 360!!!

Just to make it clear I had no intention what so ever of buying the machine saving all my shiny pennies for a PS3. Here comes my dad and buys my little brother (ones 8 other is 10) a 360, which im pretty certain will be exploited by me lol.

Anyhow, just wondering, since my little brothers are on holiday and wont be comin back with my (opps their) 360 before next week, what have i missed since launch, only titles worth while in my mind which i can remember is DOA (which i had for the original xbox and though was ok) and PGR3. I know there a RPG somewhere which was a massive hit, but ive got no time for those types of games atm, kinda busy with my course and stuff. So waht suggestion can u give to a complete 360 newbie..?



PS just found out they got the core version. BAH!

there is nothing wrong with the core version. i have that. and its a beautiful thing because it saves me money while i wait for them to upgrade the hdd capacity. ya know. (but on subject) Kameo is a good game. Burnout. Quake.. Perfect Dark. Chrome hounds is fun if your into experiences like that. its slow and long. those are just a few off my head. but GOW. make sure you reserve that.

Oh.... Well, I was going to highly recommend The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, since it's such a wonderful game and all, but it's one of those games that you could easily end up spending eighty, a hundred, or even more hours in, so....

One of the first games I bought for my 360 that I didn't see mentioned was Condemned. I really enjoyed it, but it's very short.

Kameo and PDZ at 30$ each are great games. Kameo is esp good for your bothers .

Ghost recon is a game to get , lots of fun and beautifull . Though without online play it takes away a bit from it.

Dead rising comes out tommorow and is getting 8s and is really fun if you like killing zombies

Then without the hardrive your missing out on geometry wars , sf2 , cloning clyde and others .

Like it was said above, Condemned is a really neat games that I enjoyed very much. Also Oblivion is a nice long game with more then enough things to keep you busy for a long time.

then maybe ill get condemned. Ow ya and Gears of war is dfntly on my hit list now, too bad itson same day as PS3 release here in UK, Im gonna be one poor mother "#¤#" this xmas!!

I got another Xbox 360 a few days ago for £50/$100. It was brand new unused and came with GRAW. Its now on eBay lol.

If you had the hard drive all the demos are great to download.

Battlefront 2 , is this game out yet? I just played a demo of it i think, it lokked proper next gen, although i think it wasnt battlefront 2, cause it looked futuristic, sorta, yet the guy at the counter in the game store said its battlefront 2 . This sucks!!!

what star wars ? If so thats an xbox 1 game , not a 360 game.

It got pretty bad reviews and there is a demo for it that you can download. Although If I were getting it I would get it on PC. From what I hear PC version has a ton more features and things left out from the console versions.

I highly suggest that you get COD2 and GRAW if your Dad likes shooters. Get Oblivion if your Dad likes RPGs. Kameo is pretty cool but the controls are kind of strange and there is a slight delay.

Trust me, get....

Condemned, COD2, Burnout 360, Oblivion(I hate it but people love it ), GRAW, Kameo, Dead Rising.

And get Geometry Wars Retro Evolved and Zuma from XB Live Arcade.

Keep some cash in the pot for Lost Planet and Gears of War.

Ok i know im a bit late to the party, but my xbox 360 arrived , and here is a totally unbiased look into from a person who never even thought of getting one.

"The machine"
Well having a bit of look at it, its designed nicely, but the plastic feels a bit cheap, the eject button particurarly, I liked the original eject button on the xbox more. overall its quite good design, but nothing breakthrough

The sound this machine makes..... I have never experienced anything so loud particurarly with DOA, not even my AMD 3500+ 16X DVD WRITER PC sounds this loud, it is quite loud, but the sound it produces is quite impressive, coming from my tiny 20 inch philips SD SCREEN. makes up for the noise from the machine.

"The controller"
Its okish feels a bit different need a bit of getting used to i think.
The xbox original controler is the one ive been using and its quite nice and heavy but with this its sorta a light xbox controller. the L1 R1 buttons dont feel as satisfying as the DS's but the triggers make up for it, they are very good.

Well thats about it for now. My dad bought DOA and FIFA.I quickly got bored with DOA. Its not even impressive on the screen, And I havent bothered taking FIFA in (dont play fotball)

I have however just bought a HDD, headset, Condemned and Fight Night.
So im gonna try those, (ive heard Fight night is one of those few titles which show off next gen graphics on 360)

I will be back with more quick newbie impression.
