I like that A button idea, very cool. I may have to pick this game up. Along with Zelda.

Sounds like they've been testing heavily with what works and doesn't...but I thought the sword was to be 1:1 motion...predetermined path=not cool.

So what exactly did they change with the "new" sword controls then? Unless they just added more paths, so that you weren't restricted to the three they had before.

Looks like they still aren't going to fix the crappy controls either. The whole move your pointer to the side of the screen and wait for it to scroll while you are getting shot from behind really sucks. It was one of my biggest gripes about the game at E3.

Have you seen videos since then? They HAVE fixed it. It still works in basically the same way, but it's far more responsive now, similar to what they did with Metroid.

yeah the shooting has been improved. the made the aiming box smaller so you dont have to go totally to the sides of the screen. plus they've given the option of how fast you move when the reticule goes out of the box.
sword fighting isnt 1:1 but still looks to have been improved. in the old demo it didnt read strikes properly. example, some people would strike in a vertical upward motion but onscreen would show a vertical downward motion because it only read vertical motion. the same with horizontal and diagonal motions. they would get read wrong some of the times. i believe that these issues may have been fixed. they also added some attacking abilities for the nunchuk and seems like they also fixed the responsiveness of the nunchuk so that blocking isnt as much of a chore. the game looks to play better. turning is now faster. targets are always more closer to the center of the screen than what the original demo allowed. the action of the game looked to be much more intense than before. should turn out to be a better game than some anticipated. |
