See, we can all do this. No matter your age, you still have an opinion, & when it comes to consoles, opinion is all anything is based on. My opinion of the PS3 is that it is great, I am from australia, & we don't get the PS3 here until march (or thereafter). I bought one off ebay though (japanese model), with resistance & RR7. All games are jap copies.

RR7 at 1st was unimpressive...I put it on 1st. Then realised that my tv was not on the 720p or 1080i setting. Then I changed the setting (I have a Samsung HD Dlp 61" Rear pro tv). After I changed the setting, the game looked tons better ( just like when you play a 360 game on a sd tv compared to a hd tv). I played a couple of games of RR7 & was still feeling a little empty. I left it & played Resistance & then came back to it, after getting the Resistance envy aside, I played RR7 again, & after a couple more games, it grew on me with every lap. I now rate the game around the 8 mark (so fair score from reviewers).

Resistance is a truly awesome 1st person shooter, & for reviewers to say that it takes all the best parts of other, past fps's is testament to how great it is. This means they have cut out the crap parts of those other games & filled Resistance with all the key elements that make console fps's fun.

The new ps3 controller is also no problem for me in this game, as the game has just been optimised perfectly control wise. It plays so smooth & nice. The controls,fluidity & speed actually remind me of timesplitters. The online matches are absolutely awesome (especially considering how bad the lemmings were bashing PS3's online service before it was released & still continue to). The single player levels are excellent & paced well. The enemy characters leave all other fps's for dead & make those pastel coloured gay wiggle, looking aliens in Halo look as crap as they are. The game is worthy of a 9.1 score minimum in my opinion. Like all games it has faults. It could have had better graphics, but I am mature enough to understand the developers were pushed for time, to get the game out on launch. It could also use more online maps. They are the two only real drawbacks I could think of....Oh & add the collision detection...like when your in a room & get stuck between furniture & stuff in some parts.

I received my copy of FNR3 that I ordered the other day. After owning te 360 version. I read reviews & heard lemming saying the PS3 version was inferior to the 360 version. I can safely say, after owning both. Both are great games & while the PS3 version is not infinately better...It certainly is better. The background (crowd & stuff) I'd heard complaints about were comparably equal. However, PS3's in ring boxer character models had been visually touched up & did look noticably better. Unless your a lemming with stevie wonder like, vision, you notice this. The gameplay has also been noticably improved as in it seems more fluid & slightly quicker. This may also be attributed to the fact the PS3 controller is an all round better console controller for all games.

I downloaded the Motorstorm demo. And all I have to say is, I can't wait for the finished game. I just hope te online gameplay is as lag free prefect as Resistance. This game is gonna rock, if they can get the online perfect. The game plays brilliantly & the only bashers are people dumb/poor enough, to be loyalists to just one console (not being the PS3). Anyone who has seriousy played this game, with an open mind, knows that no matter your console of choice.......It is simply a excellent game, in regards to graphics, physics & gameplay. It looks to have the whole package.

F1 demo. Looks like the best playing F1 game since the original F1 on PS1 made by psgnosis. With no next gen competetion though, it's a bit of a one horse race. and even when EA release their F1 trash, Sony's game will still trash EA's budget lame attempts.

Genji. Not a great game, also not a game that deserved to be trashed as much as it was. This game is probably comparable as a launch game to Kameo. Kameo was very pretty, but the gameplay was stilted & mediocre at best. The characters did not control well. ( I did finish Kameo too, before the infiltrator lems decide to bash me). rare are just a mere shadow of their former (N64) selves. So back to genji. Probably deserved a 7, just like Kameo only deserved a 7.

Gripshift demo. No good. The psp version actually played better.

In all I rate the PS3 very highly. I probably should have waited for the Australian release...But hey.... I'll get one of them too. And no lems, I am not rich, do not have to take out another morgage , or any of that other garbage you fools spew out. It is simply $100-$200 more than the 360. That is not a lot more to pay, considering for that extra money, you get a free online srervice, a new format dvd player, a wi-fi, 20 or 60gig hd, a machine that will eventually attact the most & best 1st & 3rd party games, & will be supported for more than a 4yr lifespan by it's creators.

I applaud early adoptors of the PS3 & any console. Without us, these morons who tell everyone to wait 2 years, obviously don't understand that if everyone waited 2 years, the manufactureres would go broke.

Anyone out their with doubts, just waiting, or whatever other reason. Take it from an owner that imported & voided all warranty....It's worth it. Resistance, RR7, FNR3 are all you'll need until febuary, march, when the big guns hit, Unreal, R6, Half Life 2, The Darkeness, VF5, VT3, Motorstorm. The price ain't gonna drop in 6months (let alone 2), the production issues do not hold a candle to 360's (still continuing( faults). Both systems are great, in my opinion. But if you just want to narrow it down to one. I suggest the PS3. It comes with the extras built in, with no hidden costs & the machine has more potential (technology wise), once Sony's 1st paty developers & the best of the best 3rd parties get to grips with it. The aesthetics of the machine are great too. The machine just looks great & fits into any setup & makes it look that much more classy. Great system.

Screw all the negativity, it's just another trend to bash someone that has been at the top of the game too much for everyones likening. I swim against the tide, I shall not follow the crowds, who think they are cool bashing Sony. It's a game machine, & anyone who has been around for the last 3-5 gens, knows that when all is said & done & all the hype & stuff has been proved wrong & the corporation lies disgarded, & the machines are released. Sony just simply knows how to deliver the gaming experience gamer want. Otherwise they would not have 1st party developers that come up with games like Ico & Shadow, they would not encourage the WRC developers to develop a different type of racing game (motorstorm) instead of sticking to a franchise that makes them money, same with insomniac & naughty dog. They allow a good ammount of their most talented developers, creative freedom, to a degree.. The same cannot be said for MS, as shown by the way they ruined Rare & Odworld Inhabants..... (Man I miss those old PS1 2d Abe games).



Back to Resistance. Gamespots score contradicts what they say about the game & they lost credablility with me when I saw they scored PDO a 9 & they rode the hype train of Gears. I own a 360 & bought gears, thinking it would be the greatest game ever. I thought the graphics were very dark & dingy for most of the game, yes some parts were great (the outside levels....unfortunately most were in doors), only 8 players online, the controls are a bit shonky & loose, the movement of your character is slow & when you hit the run button, the game is uncontrollable. I never read about any of these faults in any reviews.

I feel the same way about gears, played and I expected to be the greatest game ever made, and it dissaponted me. It's very good though but It's just weird no one mentions this in reviews.

Yeah I bought into the Gears Hype too...It is great, but I beat it in like half the time I though I would, and it is kinda clunky. Overall-it just didn't blow me away like the 9.7's it was getting on the reviews.

But Gears bashing aside, I'm honestly not impressed with the 360 that much outside of playing music while I'm gaming. It's kinda of the reason I haven't gotten a PS3 yet. (Since I've heard it ain't much better) I'm enjoying Wii right now-easily the best value out and Imo-the best gaming experience you can have.

However, motion control games for PS3 are definitely the reason I'm picking up the system. I would be downloading demos now but I'm having some issues setting up a router with Linux. Motion control is INFINITELY MORE FUN THAN ANYTHING I'VE EVER PLAYED!

I'm excited Sony is embracing this with PS3 games, and interested to see how other games outside of the racing/flying genre play out.

Heck yeah! I can just see using motion control in a circle-system mini game where you're struggling with taking a monsters head off, tilting the controller left and right in a twisting motion. I bet Jaffe and the boys at SCEA Santa Monica are planning some pretty slick things for God of War 3!!! The game will simply be mind blowing.
