ps3 is way better then xbox 360 because the 360 doesnt even get 1080p the hard diver is only 20gb and the ps3 is 60gb. The ps3 online play is free and the 360 cost money. the ps3 has internet brower and the 360 does not. the ps3 has more USB ports and has the flash card slots and the 360 doesnt. the grapics of the ps3 is better to. so dont get the xbox 360 get the ps3 because it is worth it.

The ps3 is awsome. Beleve the hype sony is on the long term run and by this summer amazing games will start happiming. like Lair warhawk metal gear solid 4 and many others. right know the 360 is a better console but it had a year to grow. all launch tittles are rushed and so the ps3 dosent have no great games. but resistance has a 40 player online and the ps3 60 gb version has wirless internet and it's free. plus a blu ray player's that are usually 1000 dollars go out there and buy one you will be satistfied soooon!

All I can say is that I am very happy I didn't waste my money on purchasing a PS3. For the same price I purchased an X-Box 360 and Nintendo Wii. I have owned every Sony game system out there, but this is one system I will definetely pass on. Maybe when they get their act together and produce a system worth the money I will buy one. Other than that why throw my money away.

i traded in my xbox 360 just to buy the ps3. the xbox was good, but it didn't have good quality like the ps3. it is so worth the money. a blu-ray disk player cost about 500$. it has good potential for upcoming games, and free online.

I bought this system about a month ago. I got genji and gundam. Well i was very suprised with gundam looking like a ps1 game when the trailer 5 months ago looked amazing. Buy a 360 trust me i have both of them and i regret getting the ps3

the PS3 is the best game console ever. Amazing graphics on HDTV and great fun gamepaly that i didn't find on the xbox 360. The SIXAXIS wireless controller is great for awesome fun and the system is so quiet. this is the only real next-generation console out there. The games arent so great right now but resistance is funn and Motorstorm is gnna be awesome.They are exspensive but it is worth it. The cel broadband engine is cool and the NVIDIA RSA graphics shows great picture and clarity. BEST PRODUCT OUT RIGHT NOW. WORTH I T

The PS3 is the best. The Xbox 360 costs just as much with a HD DVD player and the online for the PS3 doesnt cost anything and you can get free demos. Also, Resistance Fall Of Man is better than Gears of War. So if you're thinking about getting a Xbox 360 think twice. It's expensive because it's better than everything else.

OK some people say that 360 is better than ps3. a 360 only has gaming with only partial HD. and if you want to put a hd DVD player in it you have to buy it for 200 dollars and just rather get ps3. it is the best. you can listen to music, Internet, photos with slide shows, FULL HD GAMES, theres is sixaxis motion controller and the best part is BUILT IN BLUE RAY PLAYER . it is way way better then 360

I was about to give it a 5 star, until it froze on me and rejected all my games and movies. I only had it for two weeks, when POW out of nowhere, it wouldn't allow me to insert any game or movie, it just made this weird clicking sound and pushed them back out. I was so angry I took it back and i am not sure what to do now, because I have never been a 360 fan and wii doesn't have the titles I enjoy.
Desperately in need of a clue?

I have all three next generation consoles. In more categories than not it is the best of the three. The HDMI connection puts out a clearer picture than the 360, even if it is not full 1080p. You can play with up to 40 players lag free online. I could go on with the good stuff, but the only problem is the Sixaxis controller. Maybe once every couple of hours it'll freak out on me, but it's no reason not to buy it. I say hell yes to PS3.

This system definatly has potential but i dont see it really showing its potential for a long time. If you get a PS3 not, you mgiht run itno some bugs. The game lineup also isnt the best, with Resistance being its only Grade A exclusive title. If you are interested in buying a PS3, I would wait untill the prices go down, the bugs are fixed, and better games come out.

Some of the games for the PS3 clearly state on the back outside of the box that the game is output in 720P, so if you don't have a 1080P set, you will view the Blu-Ray game in 720P, however Blu-Ray movies unlike games are to only be in 1080P, so if your set doesn't support 1080P your Blu-Ray movie is going to play in 480, despite of what my televsion manufacturer told me, my set only supports up to 1080i so, they told me if I don't see in the 1080P, my TV will downconvert to 1080i, while Sony claims that if you don't have 1080P your Blu-Ray movies will play in only 480i. Who do you listen to the TV manufacturer or the Sony Playstation? I would say it's Sony. The device your putting in to your TV, not what your TV is supposed to do. What do you think, anyone have any comment on this issue?

Yeah you're right its too expensive and there are limited game selection. Yeah, yeah i keep on hearing that every time and im getting sick and tired of hearing that! I am smarter than yall PS3 haters sayin all that crap about my system. Xbox 360 sucks and DEFINANTLY PS3 is WAY WAY WAY better than the Wii. Go get it now so you can get one game play it for a while, save up your money to buy games that you want(FF XIII, Grand Theft Auto IV Reccommended when it comes out). Instead of getting it one year later and struggling just to collect thoese good games that already became a little cheaper. Thoese PS3 fans(Like me) who has a PS3 since it came out on Nov 17(I believe, anyways i got mine on New Years Day) Are smart. Just you wait, in 6 months to 1 year the PS3 will be on top of the food chain and the Xbox 360 will be at the middle of the chain, and the Wii Uhhh well *cough* *cough* WAY below the food chain.

This is absolutly the greatest thing someone can ask for. The high definition games look GREAT even on standard TVs. The games are built on Blu-Ray Discs so the levels are in great detail and length (You never have to worry about beating a game in one day any more). It also connects to the psp via wifi and you can controll the ps3's main user interface with the psp via Remote Play. It has a web browser that lets you do any thing dat u can do on a comps browser cept' play flash games. THE BEST THING EVER

No question about it in my opinion this console is a must have. I got mine last week and i've been hooked on it since. A great way to relieve from stress after a longs day work. I do both, work and go to school, so i find myself stressed a lot, and this thing sure does the job. Motorstorm in March should be great.

ok ps3 is the best. there are people writing reviews because they're x360 fans and they know the ps3 is WAAAAAAAAAY BETTER then the 360. I dont own an HDTV but ive played on an HDTV and its SOOOOOOOOOO CRAZY. when you play ps3 in standard definition it looks like 360 graphics and wehn you play the ps3 on an HDTV its better then 360. the only thing that sucks about the ps3 is that there arent alot of good games but in march there comin out with some games like Oblivion, def jam icon, the godfather, and i think theres a couple more games.

haha, I'm just giving stars just because. I am writing because while many of these reviews have been helpful, others haven't. If you're a Xbox fanboy or don't have a PS3, then don't write bad reviews because you're just throwing off others that are interested in buying one. Now I'm thrown off and it sux. I have played both systems and I like them both so its not an easy decision. Its not saying much saying that PS3 sucks, because its only been out for 3 months and lets face it.....all systems suck at launch...I know the 360's did. So save it....

People talk about how much better the xbox 360 is. its only because of the games out, it took the 360 about 6 months before we started seeing good games come out. This is a great system. I is a cheat blue ray player, a faster cell processor than the x-box and free online. I have saved up for this system for about a year and i still think it was worth it, even if it is a little expensive. And the x-box did not look so good in its release but it pulled thru. Give it a month or two and it will kik some butt.

Ok seriously I understand that this is a PS3 sales pitch. I agree that the PS3 has potential IN THE FUTURE. I do NOT agree with anyone saying it is the best console right now. IT IS NOT THE BEST RIGHT NOW!!! What do you have to back those statements up??? Its not online, it certainly isnt the games and by the way after a year or so you have to buy new controllers because the lithium battery dies and you cannot replace them. No High Def cables out of the box, not headset for online. I like and have the ps3 also but I would never say it is the best system. Especially at this present moment. PS2 may have been the best back then, that doesnt mean the Sony brand will carry that over t the ps3. Talk your crap in a few months or so but for now, dont mislead people into buying the PS3 because your a fanboy. 360 as of right now stomps all over the PS3 in games(which there are a lot more than 1 or 2 good ones, ONLINE, price, accessories and availability

i would highly recomend the ps3!i have had mine for about a mounth and very satisfied with it.it has free online play,runs very quit and does not overheat unlike the 360.a couple of my friends own a 360 and all they do is complain about it.one says his xbox just quit working and the other says his gets real hot and ruined one of his games.sure it,s a little pricey but do urself a favor spend the extra money and get the ps3.because if u get a xbox all ur doing is asking for trouble!!!

Folks, BELIEVE the hype, because this thing is the TRUTH! It is incredibley powerful, and can not be beaten by any other system. No question about it, PS3 is the BEST system out there. With the cell processor, there is no way to even think of the potential this thing has! It's amazing! See: MGS4, Killzone PS3, Motorstorm, Heavenly Sword, Ratchet and CLank, SOCOM PS3, ect. Man this thing is SMOKING HOT! I've really enjoyed it! Resistance and Fight Night Round 3 are both remarkable. NBA 2k7 is also pretty good. There's been a little game drought, but with Virtua Fighter and F1 Racing (both amazing graphics and gameplay) coming out exclusively to PS3 this month, as well as Motorstorm, Oblivion, and Mercenaries 2 next month, the PS3 is a MUST buy.

I got a PS3 last week, and i've been hooked on resistance fall of man since. The Blu Ray player is really good too, and i love all the free demos in the playstation store. I also have a PSP, and it goes perfect with PS3, as you can download ps1 classics off the playstation store and play them on your psp. It's really cool. With more power and much better graphics than the xbox360, there's no reason not to get a ps3. It is a must buy ! Motorstorm in March, i can't wait!

Before u decide on what system u want to get play them all .YOU can listen to other peoples opinion on what they like but please choose the system for its abilitys and for the games u want to play. I mean all systems are gona have problems when they first come out just like anything else look at the 360 its games it had at launch wasnt that great but look at it now. Both systems have internet capabilites have good games now and coming out later on both have good graphics and the wii has the new type controller and decient graphics 4 what it does, so in closing try them all and decide for yourself what u want to play in the long run not just whats out now!

Okay, have you seen the ting that says...Wii Out selling PS3 by a long shot. No duh, the ps3 has bugs, is exactly the same as a ps1 and 2. I saw one at Bestbuy and the menu is just like the psp. I have read reviews and apperently the ps3 is waaaaaay too confusing. If you want a ps3 on-the-go, just get a psp. they are exactly the same!

The playstation 3 is far beyond the 360....I've played both and on an HDTV with the 360. I just got my ps3 on 2/3/07 and its definitly better even on a normal(non-hd) tv. Im not just saying this because im a playstation fan, Im saying it because its true. By the way.......... the only reason to get the 360 over the ps3 is because the 360 has a larger game selection. And........the 360 only goes to 1080i, the ps3 goes to 1080p (which is one step better). The price is pretty expensive.........but its totally worth it......blu-ray game and dvd player, always online service for free, 60 gig hardrive (360's biggest is 20 gig , core system has none) u dont need memory cards, and finally, the gamig, the most wanted feature, is amazing. i own resistance fall of man, its unbelivable, mabye a hard game but awesome. Please take this message seriously the playstation 3 is better than the xbox360.

Everyone just wont shut up and admit that xbox 360 and ps3 are both bad in ways, there basicly equal... Xbox 360 has heating problems, ps3 has some glitches in some of the fairly new games. I have xbox 360 and ps3, they both had problems... i had to send my xbox back for the stupid red lights and when i got it back it craped out again when they told me to put a cooler on it and it melted into the system. I like them both and I really hate the xbox fan boys who always complain about other systems and cant admit theres a problem with there own. XBOX 360 AND PS3 ARE PRETTY BAD BUT THEY BOTH ARE THE SAME

First off, every system has its share of problems when it first comes out. You people giving the PS3 1 star are probably the same people who gave the 360 1 star a year ago. Also, almost everyone who gave this system a low rating compared it to something else, usually the 360 which has had a year longer to work everything out. All you 360 fanboys should write the 360 a great review instead of giving the PS3 a bad one. This system is great and if you can't figure out how to work it don't say it sucks. I have all the new systems and i think they are all great, but the PS3 will be the best in time so too bad for all of you who sold yours.

Notice how the memory for PS3 is only 256 where the Xbox 360 has 512. Big difference there. Think before you just go out and buy a system guys, you never know what information you can find that will change your mind.

i got the ps3 for my birthday i got it from fedex yesterday and now tonite i gotta take it to my local store because after playin one day i wake up this am to play again but it broke i kept getting the red lite flashing and a yellow like and when the game did come on i was tryin to set my game up for football but it went off in the middle of playin 600 bucks and i only played it for 1 day . i hope my new on wont blow on me . sony needs to send me a true story on why they sell broken ps3 to people they just wanna make money they can care less if it works .

This is a great system, however the price is a little high. I've noticed that there aren't many titles for this system yet. It also so seems that the scheduled release dates are half way through the year. The X-Box seems to be the better buy right now. If you want the tech. then by all means buy the PS3, but if you want to play a larger library of titles then you are better off going with the X-Box. Plus Halo 3 is coming out and promises to be the best end all game to the saga. The blue ray tech is nice, but where are all the titles. I have already played F.E.A.R., Rainbow Six Vegas and Splinter Cell Double Agent on my PC. These are the schedualed titles ? Comon Sony, step it up a notch.

The PS3 is the best! It blows the 360 away. It has a Cell Processor and a 60g hard drive! The controllers don't take batteries and charge through the game. Get this system if you have deep pockets. If not, go with the Wii!

I own both a 360 and the PS3. The 360 is much more straight forward in operation. The PS3's menu system is a lot more cumbersome. The games on the 360 actually look a little nicer because of the better frame rates. The on-line gaming is also far superior on the 360 thanks to Microsoft's dedication to xbox live. I work at a high-end audo/video store in Michigan and can tell you first hand......the hd dvd add on for the 360 looks phenominal if it's connected to a quality monitor (and I'm not talking about the Vizio LCD crap available EVERYWHERE). The one thing I prefer about the PS3 is the HDMI output.

All I keep hearing is wait about a year wait to see when ps3 unlocks its potential and how powerful it is. The fact still remains people if it was such a great game system they there look it still uses the same style/design controller it did on the ps2 wow, Sony would have made it available with games read to play and give the 360 some stiff competition. However it was put on the market with not much to offer other then taking up space and a blue ray HD player. Other then that it has not much to offer. Graphics are pretty much the same on any tv u play it on. xbox graphics are more chirps and shows more detail. 360 rules people bottom line. Keep your 600 for a down pymt on a car people something worth having. LMAO

yah so i got my ps3 and was very excited about hooking it up.. once i turned it on i was like what the heck???? Im def not feeling the interface what so ever and i bought resistance and i thought it was an okay game but def not anything new... I packed it all back in the box and brought it back to the store.. The only thing that i liked about the ps3 was the web browser and that it had a blue ray player.. thats the deal in itself. I def think i will purchase one if blue ray is the format that takes off other then that im happy with the wii and 360...

With recent consoles it's been a popular practice to bundle crappy games to a console and sell it at a premium. The fact that they aren't doing this with the PS3 a mere few months after it's release tells me that they aren't getting the monster sales they had expected and they certainly aren't going to convince people to buy bundled deals. I hope this serves as a resounding message for future console launches. There is a limit to what people will pay for a video game and Sony has found it.

The games on this system are incredible. Resistance and Motorstorm are possibly the greatest games to get this year! The Blu-ray movies are incredible, HD definition blu-ray movies are much, much better then old DVD movies. The 360 can't play HD movies, only old DVD movies. The controllers have a nice feel. The XMB is very easy to use and has an internet browser. The Playstation Store is full of demos and arcade games, you can even download old PS1 games. This system is amazing a will definitely be worth it.

well the price isnt to bad its mostly the lack of exclusive titles they are only coning out with 1 good exclusive MGS 4. most of the games coming out are games you could have gotten months ago on the 360. from what i saw most of the ps3 versions of games are sortta glitchy. the blue ray player might be kinda cool but there are just not enough blue rays out right now. so it probable deserves a 1 out of five

People say the PS3 price is just too much. Ok lets settle this, for the xobx360 u have to buy the play and charge and the wireless adapter, the HD drive thats just as much as a PS3 plus xbox 360 does not have HDMI and the ps3 has blu-ray i can tell the better grapics on the ps3 so can all my friends and they have xbox360

The PS3 ow wow I can't believe it, no not the system the price. This system's graphics ARE NOT AS GOOD AS THE 360's some people might say that it is just the release titles that look bad and in a year it will look better but to them I say no way. And the public realizes this true and now nobody can get the PS3 off their shelves instead of on them. All together the PS3 is a failing system and if you want a next gen that will last and have more games in the next 3 years get a Wii or I prefer the Xbox 360.

PS3 is an excellent system, what people dont know is that its potential is so much greater than game creaters can even develop yet, and it is just waiting to improve, plus with the blu-ray reader, you can watch HD movies (not the typical widescreen).

I had my PS3 for over 2 months now and it works. I had it on for 2 days straight never gave me any problems. Mine freezes when I try to use the internet browser ONLY then it freezes. Every system has its share of problems when it first came out like the XBox 360 when it first came out. I think the regular graphics are better than the WIIs all together. The PS3 has system updates I think that fixes some of its problems

I own a PS3 and it's not all that I thought it would be considering the price. The Xbox 360 is a better deal at the moment but PS3 haven't been out nearly as long. By the end of the year there should be a better idea of where the PS3 stands with Xbox 360, but as of right now, Xbox got it.

this is the best system once they know how to work the blue-ray this system will be unstoppable which will probly be sometime in october or november when medal of honor airborne comes out thats actully why they pushed it back so they could get the full potenial of the system it might take awile but in a half a year or so we will be seeing the full potenial of te is system

I learned that the 360 is better than the PS3 because if you dont have a HD tv for the ps3 then your going to be looking at ps2 graphics and you can save ollars if you by the 360 instead of the ps3. yhe graphics look just alike I own a 360 and its great

This system is amazing. I really don't agree with the people who gave this system one star. The graphics are amazing and you can play Blu-Ray discs. It is a lot of money but it is worth it. A normal Blu-Ray player is more than the PS3. For the people who don't think Blu-Ray is any good. If you put a Blu-Ray DVD in the PS3 you would get an "unreal picture" I have a XBOX 360 too and I am more impressed with the PS3. Another thing good about the PS3 is that it has internet. The internet gets great connections. The people who think that the Wii is much better than the PS3, you are wrong. If the PS3 was 250 dollars like the Wii is the PS3 would be favored by a lot. A lot of people just care about the price. Last, if you are getting a PS3 make sure you get the 60GB, not the 20GB.

I've had my PS3 since christmas, and I must say that i'm thoroughly enjoying it. The price may be high but I personally think that the system is worth every penny. I don't see why people could possibly hate it, unless of course they are a fanboy who just wants to bash a system that isn't their company's. Don't get me wrong I love the Wii and the 360. I think all three systems are worth getting at one point or another, but PS3 is one of my favorites at the moment, and with the games coming out in the future it promises to be an even more solid system.

The Xbox 360 has the exact quality of HD as the PS3, better online services, the Xbox Live Arcade, Marketplace, and Video Marketplace, and so much better interactivity. If you ask me, I had more fun with the 360 foolin around in the Marketplace and the menus, than playin Resistance: Fall of Man on the PS3. Just because something is "newer" and "the new thing," doesn't make it better!

The ps3 is a really good system. Blu-ray, nice graphics, sixaxis controller, and many more. Maybe expensive but worth the money. With MGS4(metal gear solid 4) coming out, this is worth that $600 in your pocket. Xbox 360 is awesome too. $200 cheaper than ps3 and nice graphics too. With gears of war and rainbow six on it, this is also worth the money. Now, we get to the wii. It maw be $250 dollars, but it is crap. No graphics, no halo 3 or MGS4, no nothing. It may be the cheapest console out right now, but its not worth the money. If I wanted to spend money on a cheap system and have fun, I'd go get myself a Nintendo 64! Not a Wii
So there it goes...PS3 or 360. Your choice. Please do not waste your money on a Wii.

first off, i never liked sony, but i got the system just to see if it really was what everyone was saying. the only game that's decent on it is resistance, and considering that u spend 600 bucks on a console to only enjoy one game for 6 months makes u think if u made a right purchase. I guess we should give time to let the game developers time to learn how to use all the power. I have a Wii 360 and a PS3 and i have to say the PS3 is my least favorite. It didn't even come with HD cords. The graphics are basically the same than the 360 and the games on the 360 are way better, even though they came out with the 360 a year before the PS3. The only reason i gave it three stars is to keep hope alive than MGS4 and GoW2 wil turn everything around. If you want a new next-gen console, skip the PS3 and go for the Wii or 360.

The ps3 is the future of gaming with all the features you need on one system. The graphics are incredible and it doesnt even compare to the 360 and definitely not the wii. The ps3 is the best system that has come out so far and has the best games. GOW (Gears Of War) is compared to the game Resistance: Fall of Man for ps3. Resistance is much better graphic wise, and story line wise. GOW is one of the shortest games I've ever seen and is simple to beat, but Resistance is long, and just great. Also i think they may be making more of Resistance games!!!! My rankings: GOW: 2..... Resistance: 5...... 360:4....... wii:2....... & PLAYSTATION 3: 5, BEST GAME EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I own an Xbox 360, a Wii and I just purchased a PS3. Obivously the 360 is ahead of the game because of the titles and because of the robust online gameplay. But if you won an HDTV like me you'll definately notice a difference in games and movies. Now I think PS3 is ahead because it has a Blu-Ray player, not that i think blu8-ray will win the HD war but you cant buy a 360 with an HD-DVD drive only an external drive which only plays movies. So i only see the PS3 pulling ahead in the future when the price drops. But as far as performance goes the PS3 is much much much quieter and much cooler. My 360 feels like an inferno. I cant even hear my PS3 when its on. Great Buy

Look I am a playstation fan and a XBOX fan i like both so i got both. i got my ps3 nov 17 and it works fine i guess im a lucky one but sony lied to everyone saying that the 360 is not a true next gen console and i believed them and i couldnt wait for it to come out. well whan i got it pluged in and started playing I realized that i was playing next gen sence nov 22, 2005 lol the 360 does have better graphic and it comes with HD cables but sony can talk all the crap they wont with blu ray it still wont make up for the 256mb of ram that will give the ps3 the hardest time to keep up with the 360 graphics. so if your not a fan boy Buy a 360 and you will be sooo much happer. Ok i did buy a 360 and sold it because it was boring and didn't feel like paying for my online fun. I promise to never turn my back on Sony. Anyways the PS3 for 599.99 comes equipped with a WIFI, wireless controller, wireless charging cables, a flash drive with scan disks slots under the chrome flap, ethernet cable FREE ONLINE and a blu ray player(999.99 on its own). The XBOX 360 premium comes with a wireless controller and free 1 month subscription to XBOX live, head set and ethernet cable. Ok already major difference compared to 399.99 and 599.99 i understand that but if i wanted to apply all these accessories to my 360 that the PS3 comes with I would pay roughly....1050...check it out for yourself not to mention that i have to buy and hd DVD player. Hmmm Microsoft continues the money hustle. So in reality Sony is the better money saver. Don't believe me do the math yourself.

I was able to get my hands on one before Christmas. The first one was DOA. I had to wait until Christmas Eve to get one. This one lasted 3 days. Gamestop warranty replaced it same day. The current machine is running well. Graphics are outstanding, with the few titles released. I would recommend waited until the next version is out and better games are released. Here are some quick opinions:

Pros:
Love the controller
HDMI on an HDTV is flippin outstanding
User interface is easy and setup was a snap

Cons:
Runs hot, very hot
Controller will sometimes loose connection
Went through 2 in a 10 day span
Not enough titles
Basic graphics on a regular TV

Conclusion: WAIT.

this system is the best when it comes to gaming, or movies, or music, or photos, etc., its just something that I've been waiting for, and it really lives up to what i had in mind for this system. and for $600, its a deal. the xbox 360 is nice and all, but it really shouldn't call its self next gen if they cant take a chance with different technology, Microsoft should stick to voice command machines that don't work (there was a device that writes down whatever you say, and a man tried to demonstrate it to all kinds of news crews, and it was completely off, and the people could not stop laughing, funniest thing that I've ever seen.) the graphics to the ps3 haven't been too good only because there hasn't been a true ps3 only game out yet. xbox 360 is something i would only get if it was handed to me for free, otherwise, its not worth the money, time, and recognition to be called a game console.

This item is overpriced and I worry about it underselling. I bought one but now I'm concerned that I'm going to be stuck with a 600 dollar piece of junk. It is no way near its sales estimates and every major broker company is downgrading Sony stock because of the underachieving PS3. If you got the money buy one. If not then stay away from this. According to financial analysts Sony is going to be in major trouble within the fiscal year.

I've seen this system in action and let me tell you: its not that much different than an xbox 360 graphics. and all that money you pay for the ps3 you would think they could kindly put some HDTV plugs in the box. i own a 360 but my friend owns a ps3 and i don't see much difference(especially in need for speed carbon which we both own)and we both have ours setup for HDTV. To me the only true system that seems like a next generation console is the Nintendo WII with the WII controller and the ability to download previous Nintendo titles. with the money you spend on a ps3 and the HDTV component plugs you could get yourself a xbox 360 and a Wii. the only reason i give this system 2 stars is for the future games that Sony promises by the end of the year like Grand Theft Auto IV, Metal Gear Solid 4, Killzone 2, Saints Row, Godfather don edition, Splinter Cell Double Agent, Rainbow Six Vegas and Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2

Had my Ps3 since Nov.17th, The hardware of the system is incredible, Xbox can't even come close, Blu-ray discs now have 50B of storage and Xbox STILL uses DVDs which only hold 8.5GB Max lol, Blu-ray games can hold more info and more detail, The cell processor is Dual core with 8 Processing elements, basically a octi-core. Xbox can't touch Ps3. On the downside tho, Ps3 games mostly suck until summer 2007, So hold off until buying one :O

i have both the 360 and ps3. as of right now, obviously the 360 is the better choice not only because it had a 1 year headstart, but also because customers wanting to purchase a gaming system can do just that. they're not forced to also but the hd add on. i love my blu-ray on my ps3 but if i had a choice then i wouldn't get it. no one knows whether the hd DVD or blu ray will win and later down the road if hd DVD is the favorite, then i would have paid extra for the ps3 for nothing. also, blu-ray is noted because of its capacity, but i read an article that some company triple layered an hd DVD and has a 170 GB capacity. if this is true then what advantage does blu-ray have over hd DVD???

The PS3 has better graphics than the 360 in one area,sports games, that is the only area that the PS3 has better graphics in. I have seen a 360 and a PS3 side by side since my brother ahs a 360 and my friend has a PS3. The PS3 gets very hot. AND HAVE YOU NOT SEEN HOW MUCH SPACE IT TAKES UP?!

The ps3 is an awesome system with great functionality and tremendous promise. You cant criticize that this system sucks because of the games, if i remember the 360 launch was worse with games I wouldnt even look at. But take my words people 2007 is when the games start really coming out. With the cell chip it has way more potential than a 360. Also you get free online play without paying the money with a service equal to that of xbox live. Take the advice of someone that actually has one and not that of some cheap 360 fan boy.

Yeah, the PS3 hype was big...but u can see how u can go in a store and purchase one now....the Wii is still far from being a store pick-up. I have 360 and PS3. I play my 360 wayyyyyy more......but i do utilize blu-ray. But thats it. I would say right now, get a 360....but when Metal gear, Final Fantasy, Devil May CRy....when those games strats to see the surface. The the PS3 ill RISSSSEEEEEEE!!!!!! Wait 6 months or so...trust me....unless u a Blu-Ray fiend like myself...other then that PS3 2007 january is a waste of time and money.

First of all let me say thanks to sony for their great products in the past.including the ps3. although the price is outrageous it will be worth it in the long run $600 isn`t that much to me but i guess thats because i`m rich. but i recommend everyone to get this whether rich or poor cause you wont regret it. some kids still rave over ps2 so you should know Sony knows what they are doing with PS3. i`m actually writing this from my PS3 just to let you know.

I recently returned my unbelievably disappointing Xbox 360 for the 60 gig Playstation 3. I will say straight off the bat that the 360 has games with better visual effects…for now. Keep in mind the PS3 is a brand new system; it will take developers a while to use all of the power the hardware can potentially provide. (Motorstorm is a good example of what the system can do.) Now, In regards to the 360: Its put together horribly, the parts go bad within six months, the customer service sucks and too many people have reported major problems and Microsoft does nothing besides tell you to send the system in with a $100 plus dollar check for the repair. If you have the money, get the Playstation 3; if not then wait for it to go down in price. I’ve owned both, and the only thing wrong with the Playstation 3 is the ridiculous price tag. (Thank god I had a lot of stuff to trade in and only paid $250 for it.)

I don't really like this system. I am not that impressed. I like the 360 and the wii better. There more fun. Plus, the Ps3 has glitches. It's basically like a Ps2 with a new look, and better graphics, and blue-ray. But most families like mine already have a dvd player. I don't need another one. The reason why Nintendo didn't give a dvd player because of price and they understood that most families already have a dvd player. And look at the price, $600 compared to $400 and $250 for systems that are better. To me, this is in third place compared to the Wii and the 360. Wii first, 360 second, and Ps3, third.

The only reason why people think PS3 is bad is because of the price and that it has crapy games. Remember PS3 just came out not to long ago, 360 has been out for about a year now of course it has better games. The PS3 hasn't even been tapped in proformance. Personally i think that sony didnt do a very good job on the ps3. I have a wii and a 360 and my neighbor has a ps3 and we both agree that 360 and wii are the better systems. the ps3 froze on us every 20 to 30 mins. also theres no HD on the ps3 but there is on 360. and yes the graphics for the 360 are better then the ps3's but not by much. my neigherbor took him ps3 back and got a 360 with gears of war. ps3 doesnt really have that many good games either. the only good game is resistance fall of man. but the 360

I am a big sony fan but when i got the first ps3 it would not read discs, so i toke it back and got a new one, and with it i got a component cable, and added to my high def. tv, it was heaven. The cables meake alot of diference. I just wish my TV could go higher then 720p, but its fine, since all the game atleast support 720p. I only gave it a 4 star because the first one did not work, but the system just come out so there will be bugs, but if u keep updating your system as the updates are available, you will be just fine. Its a must have trust me.

The graphics of launch titles on the PS3 vs. Xbox 360 graphics are alot worse. Mainly because almost all launch titles use 720p, not 1080i or 1080p like the 360 uses. I recently bought a PS3, and it overheated and froze about 4 times within 8 hours of playing. The next day, I returned the system and bought a 360, which has better graphics now, and a much better game selection.

This system is way overpriced and every game that is being released for it is also being released for the 360. The graphics are marginally better then the 360 at best, and the majority of the games currently available for the PS3 are mediocre at best. If you have $ to blow and absolutely need to have blu ray DVD player then go ahead, but just remember no Sony created format ever hit mainstream, for examples look at the UMD and Beta tapes. Do yourself a favor and buy a 360 if you are 13 and over, or get a wii if you 12 and under. PS3 is too much of a gamble at this point.

PLAYSTATION 3 IS UNSTOPPABLE!!!! People who have a PS3 and say it sucks well then your just plainly ignorant. The cell processor has yet to be tapped into with it's immense power it is capable of destroying the 360. Give it some years to start getting better in the game selection because gurantee it will blow other systems out of the water. People say it's not as good as the 360 well that's because the 360 has been out for year so they have had sometime to plan stuff out. While the 360 may be a good choice you will not regret the PS3!!!!

I agree with the guy below me the ps3 is not in any way crappy. You microsoft lovers hand out a ton of crap about the system just so you can get people to buy the 360 and be unpleased. 360 is not bad but in comparison with ps3...be serios ther is no comparison HD QUALITY is more acurate than 360 ...plus blu-ray technology. I would rather buy a wii than 360. trust me ps3 does everything u could emagine a console doing just like a pc / but more managible. it would cost 900-1000 dolars to get a 360 to do these things. PLUS look at the future of the ps3 experiance AMAZING !!!

I don't have ps3 yet i am getting the system in a month. I have played both 360 and ps3 and it is unbelievable that people say 360 is better!!! first off I've been gaming since 95 and no games. 360 freezes and is less quality HD. it would cost 2 times as much to make 360=to ps3 PS... ps3 never overheats it is total crap.

This system is way overpriced and every game that is being released for it is also being released for the 360. The graphics are marginally better then the 360 at best, and the majority of the games currently available for the PS3 are mediocre at best. If you have $600 to blow and absolutely need to have blu ray DVD player then go ahead, but just remember no Sony created format ever hit mainstream, for examples look at the UMD and Beta tapes. Do yourself a favor and buy a 360 if you are 13 and over, or get a wii if you 12 and under. PS3 is too much of a gamble at this point.

The ps3 had loads of hype coming into the gaming market. but if you ask me, its not what everyone was expecting. I played a few of the games and the graphics on the 360 were better on all of them. Everyone was excited about blu-ray but barely new anything about it. All blu-ray does is add space to the disk to do more. Game developers are not taking blu-ray to its full potential. I believe the ps3 will get better in the future, but if your into the here and now and want great games without a years wait, get a 360. Gears of war is more worth it than resistance. all the same name titles are better. More developers are switching to the 360. The online support is better, though it does cost more. It will it to just leave the PS3 alone for a year and get it around next Christmas when there will be better games and features. But for right now, use your money on a 360 and save up for the PS3 around Christmas next year.

the system is so good nothing freezes like the 360 my freind has 360 and march madness froze with a cuple other games ps3 doesnt.its worth it . make sure u get an hd tv too but normal ps3 graphics r better than 360 hd grphics so buy it

Hi. Since the 360 has come out I have owned 4 of them; aall of which have broken in different manners, my last one I threw out and went to the local eb to purchase a PS3 its incredible- fast, quiet, better graphics, nicer smaller controller everything about it is great. The onlne may not be as good as the 360 but its free a plus in my book. There are somethings I do not like about the PS3 however which is the lack of rumble in the controllers and the lack of any sort of high def cables out of the box (i purchased the 60GB model). Another reason i purhased this unit was due to the fact that I am into horror games and there just aren;t that many out yet or on the horizon for the 360 whereas the PS3 has a ton of horror titles on its release list. hope this review helps some.

I love gaming and I could not wait when PlayStation was going to drop another console. First thing I don't like about the new console is that they did not even drop a wireless headset for release day. Next gen gaming revolves around two things graphics, and online gaming. What is the point of being online with a wireless console when you have to have a wired headset if you want to get the same brand. The second thing that turned me off of this new console is the controller. It just feels to light and cheap. My opinion is that if this Monster of the gaming industry wants to stay in the next gen race they better make up for it down the stretch!

I'm going to start out like this every bad review i read says it breaks down it freezes and doesnt have the games to match xbox 360. The first ps and ps2 both had problems, i had both systems and remember the issues they had, its every first gen system that is screwed up you guys and gals that buy these systems when they first come out are guine pigs you return the systems and tell sony whats wrong an they begin to fix them, i thank everyone of you for your contributing to making a better system. As for the games give it a year and you will see what amazing things happen to this system. Look back on your collecting of older games even though your system had the potential to be great, the graphics were disappointing but they progress and become better and wow you for years to come. Thats all i got for you guys and for you bleeding hearts that hate the ps3 dont go buy a system when it first comes out but a smarter consumer. Peace

has been working perfectly nothing wrong at all it barely heats up and is extremely quiet. my 360 actually makes more noise and heats up more than the ps3.

I would invest in an HDTV that supports 1080p if you want to buy a PS3. I play on both a Standard Defintion and HDTV, and the difference is like night and day.

Another consumer review, from me.

360 has been out for a year now, and all it has is 2 great games: Gears of War and Blue Dragon. The PS3 has only been out for 3 months and it got 3 great games already: Motorstorm, Resistance, and Virtual Fighter 5. In a year, that number will have increase to around 10. Meanwhile, after two years, the 360 will finally have 3 great games: Halo 3, Blue Dragon, and Gears of War. The PS3 has the potential. The 360 has none. Get with the program. Buy the PS3.

After working tech support for 3 years...i have no bar for minimum IQ or level of idiocy I expect from the average consumer. Keep that in mind and you will not be surprised often.

Personally consumer review matters not to me. It's all about appeal and the opinions of close friends that have it, etc. Justifing a purchase based on some random guy on the internet is a bit of a stretch to me at least.

The PS3 is the best. The Xbox 360 costs just as much with a HD DVD player and the online for the PS3 doesnt cost anything and you can get free demos. Also, Resistance Fall Of Man is better than Gears of War. So if you're thinking about getting a Xbox 360 think twice. It's expensive because it's better than everything else.

I find this thread interesting, because I often refer to user reviews and features when making electronic purchases. I typically use these reviews, because most electronics have similar features, and if you are bargain shopping the info can be invaluable. When it comes to videogame consoles I'm not bargain shopping and I don't consider the consoles delivering the same experience at different prices... I would consider myself and others on this forum expert analyst of the videogame industry so no need for any user reviews. Peace
