I found out a little bit more than what I’m able to say, but posting anything more may not be needed. From what I know, Killzone 2 could very well be the best looking console game, ever. Period. This was revealed to my by a Genji 2 producer back in September, citing the game’s visuals as even better than the original trailer."

Well i heard a few things from the Sony rep today about Killzone 3. He's had inside viewings of Killzone 3 that were never released to the public and arnt likely to be by the sounds of things, nothing more than internal tech videos showing off the physics engine that will be behind the game. As he described, one video showed a helghast running on a lean round a corner just as a bullet flies through the air and nails the helghast soldier in his trailing right ankle, kicking the soldiers' foot out, tripping his other leg and rolling over himself on the ground. In real time might i add, and its not gunna be released until that E305 Scene is playable and at least at that quality, but going by what he said its well on the way and matching it.

Killzone PS3 demo will appear this March most likely alongside the European Launch and firmware 2.00. It will incorporate a 15 minute timed part from the single player campaign and a untimed multiplayer map supporting 64 players. 8 vheicles will be playable in the multi player map, including 2 air vehicles and 2 naval.

I thought of creating a thread like this before, but I thought that the board could use some more threads back then. Now that more news are coming very soon, this thread will filter some stuff nicely.

Anyway, I'm not sure whether the most appropriate term could be "rumours". How about "miscellaneous info" or "small news"? Or "miscellaneous news"?

Only a moderator can change the thread title after someone has posted in it already. If nobody had posted yet, you would have been able to do it. I'm sure they'll do it as soon as they see this thread, and hopefully sticky it as well. I think there are many stickies now too, but some of them could be unstickied.

I suggest "PS3 miscellaneous news and rumours".

These matters are sort of delicate for forum balance. It's a place where news *can* be collected, but not where it needs to be collected. So new news should still go into new and individual threads, where it can be discussed, and then added here as well for a public record of sorts.

Omni, it'll be more or less up to you to keep track and format the initial post, so good luck! VG's video threads should serve as a good source of inspiration.

The reason why I kept refusing creating a thread like this is the need to create more threads to keep this forum alive. However, sometimes we can find some small news that are hardly worth a thread and we could post them all here rather than creating unnecessary threads or going off-topic.

And if it happened that we post something here that deserves a thread, that can be easily fixed!

Despite having plenty of fun with daily playtests of the game, Valve will have time to release some new info in the coming months.


In a message released through Steam, Valve has revealed that development of Team Fortress 2 is "really moving along" and that the development team is currently enjoying daily 6pm playtests.

The message also says that Valve "will be sharing more information about TF2 over the next couple of months."

The game's release date recently took a dive towards the end of 2007, with EA announcing the winter release of its Half-Life 2 Orange and Black Box bundles - each including Team Fortress 2.

Blu-ray does NOT cost significantly more than HD DVD

Using the pricing data and example calculations in this article we can make a few conclusions on replication costs at this plant. Replicating on HD DVD SL (15GB) will always be the most inexpensive option at any quantity. Replicating on Blu-ray DL (50GB) will always be the most expensive option. But the pricing of the other two media types (HD DVD DL and Blu-ray SL) is where the most interesting information is. Looking at the pricing and calculated data we can conclude that replicating content on the Blu-ray format is not significantly more costly than HD DVD. In fact, replicating on Blu-ray SL (25GB) can actually be less expensive than replicating on HD DVD DL (30GB). Hopefully this article will help to dispell the myth that Blu-ray disc replication is significantly more expensive than HD DVD replication.
