The Princess Bride
Since we are way off topic of the other thread, here we can do it on topic.
Vezzini: Have you ever heard of Plato? Aristotle? Socrates? Wesley: Yes Vezzini:Morons. ****************** Miracle Max: True love is the greatest thing in the world. Except for a nice MLT... mutton, lettuce and tomato sandwich where the mutton is nice and lean, and the tomato is ripe....they're so perky. I love that.

^ Lol, you really do have the lines memorized, don't you? :-P
Anyway, don't know if you caught my trivia in the other thread, but do you know who was up for the part of Fezzik well before Andre the Giant got it?

Andre was originally desired but the Governator himself was almost cast instead.

^ Yeppers. You get a cookie..congrats!
It was Goldman's intention to cast Ar-nold, but he became too popular by the time the film was finally ready for production - shortly after "The Terminator" released, I believe. Hence, it wasn't feasible to bring him on the set, and they got Andre instead...who originally read his lines far too slow, leading to Mandy Patinkin (Inigo) SLAPPING him during a preliminary script-reading in a London Hotel, yelling "Faster! Faster!" It worked. Andre started speaking faster, and everything fell into place afterwards. I myself would never have touched Andre, lol. |

Yeah, I read that a long time ago but forgot about Mandy slapping him. He has balls, really big ones.

I wish I could have been in that movie.
I'm Italian...I could have been Vezzini! Screw Wallace Shaw! (I'm guessing that's his name, lol).I'd like to write and direct films one day...that would rock. I ain't got no skillz though, besides some school project films, hehe. |

I did all 4 years of drama in high school, stage and tech. I would have loved to have done TPB. Didn't haven Italian on board so we could have used you.
It's Wallace Shawn, I think. Just checked, it is. |

Shawn? Well, I was only a letter off, at least. Maybe I should have done theater, but I didn't think I was much of a stage person; I just made movies for various school projects, and since that wasn't live I had no problem doing whatever, whether I was making a fool of myself or not (I once did a Forest Gump type character...except way more retarded, lol).

lol. Do you still have it?
Vizzini: Am I going mad, or did the word "think" escape your lips? ************** Prince Humperdinck: Surrender! Wesley: You mean you wish to surrender to me? Very well, I accept. |

Yeah, that was a math project on topology I believe I did....yes, a math project. I was able to twist it to fit my more creative nature by filming a "commercial" for the "Teacher's Home Shopping Network" (lol) in which we sold educational kits to teachers, visual aids kits, essentially, that they could use in the classroom, complete with lesson plans. My friend Jonas and I were the infomercial peeps trying to sell the product in a humorous fashion, and by pitching it, we managed to explain what topology was (the products were aids for the teacher to teach topology). Although I adopted a very extreme newscaster-type voice for a corny effect, and my friend acted like he was British, we pulled people "from the audience" to try out the product themselves, or to demonstrate it to them, essentially. That's where the sheer juvenile comedy came in...we cut shots to my friend pulling someone from the crowd, which was me, except I was now playing a retarded hick, essentially. We also pulled a black man and two Arabs, so we were pc in that we made fun of just about every ethnic group, lol. We got an A on the project.
I've done some others as well, including a movie for science last year on the element lithium, which ran for like 35 minutes lol. *** Wesley: "As you wish." |

Yea, hehe, I always tended to bend the rules on my video projects (in fact, in Pre-Calculus, we weren't even supposed to do videos but I got the teach to greenlight it anyway). In science, we were the only group to do a video as well. Everyone else did normal reports on the elements, but since our element was lithium and after some research I realized it was used to treat manic-depressive/bi-polar patients who could suffer from hallucinations, regardless of being treated, I did a movie called "Delirium" which focused on a patient in a mental ward named Delirious Dave and the three doctors who attended to him. There were two kinds of scenes; we'd start off with the doctors, who were humorous in their own right, trying to treat the patient, and this was where all the actual scientific information came in (actually, we had more presented through the movie than just about any report did, heeh). Then, the next kind of scene would be one in which the patient, Dave, hallucinated (the doctors played parts in his hallucination); due to the fact that I was taking care of the necessary scientific mumbo-jumbo in the prior scenes, these scenes were there merely for comedy. I had an original mafia type scenario in which Dave hallucinated he was facing the wrath of a mob boss, I did a LOTR spoof hallucination in which Dave (thinking he was Pippin) was made to carry the ring after Frodo turns it down, and an original kung fu type hallucination in which we dubbed over all the lines afterward, for that typical cheesey effect (which worked well). Kind of hard to explain, but needless to say, we got a 100 on the project, the highest in the class.

What about the R.O.U.S.'s?
Rodents of unusual size? I hardly think they exist.

Why can't people make films like Princess Bride these days?
