Being Anti-Acclaim, with the exception of their Dreamcast ports, (Which are just as shitty as any of their other works.) I never gave the Burnout games a try. I read that they break up the gameplay by replaying every crash (No matter how minor.) three times, which sounds kind of irritating. (Especially since I'm known to smash up my cars quite a bit in racing games. How long does a single car last you in GTA? Hahaha, that's right.) Maybe with this new game, which is being published under the EA Games label, it might be worth picking up. I'm assuming EA will greatly influence the game's production, offering suggestions and adjusts that might enhance the experience. It's probably just high expectations, but I'm still interested in the third game, and I'll probably give it a rental once it's released.

I enjoyed both Burnout 1 & 2 - however I found Burnout 2 to be better. The sense of speed in Burnout 2 was awesome... especially when you went into Burnout mode, the whole feel of a nitrous boost. A damn good game.

I'm looking forward to Burnout 3. I'm sure it'll be even better than Burnout 2.

I still think that they're pretty good. I'm a fan of the Burnout games, so I'll probably end up getting this one. It's just something different to the realism of GT.

Yea the 2nd game was generally a lot smoother than the previous one. It also seemed a bit faster as well.

I agree with matt that it lacks the realism of gran turismo.

Yes, but some times you just want a fast, no-thought-required arcade racer. Unfortunately, Gran Turismo, despite what most reviews say, requires some getting used to. (You know you were confused the first time you did a 720 while attempting to make a seemingly simple turn.) Especially if you have friends who are unfamiliar with the Gran Turismo series, games like Burnout just work out better. Anyway, Gran Turismo 4 is higher on my "must play" list, but I am definitely interested in giving Burnout 3 a try when it's released.

We know Burnout 3 isn't released, we are talking about when we played Burnout 2. Burnout 3 wont be out for several months yet, its only early in development.

Burnout 3 takes the series even further, now featuring a unique 'crash and burn' racing concept and a one-of-a-kind special effects engine that delivers spectacular visuals. The intensity heats up as players race, and often crash, their way through on-coming traffic in an attempt to claim the top spot. Boasting multiple single-player, multiplayer and online crash and race modes for up to six players, Burnout 3 offers players the opportunity to race through busy city streets and be rewarded for taking risks that result in heart-pounding action and electrifying crashes.
