Reggie talks Revolution Again


Just lately Iwata unveiled that Revolution would debut at less than 440$ American, well one of Reggie's largest re-assurances ever just arrived. In an interviewe with CNET Reggie announced that Nintendo's new sleek black system will launch at under 300.00USD although this could mean a sales price of 299.99USD it is fairly doubtfull.

Reggie even dropped hints of how EAGames could improve their NFL series on the Revolution setting it apart from its competitors "So if I'm developing a football game, I can move across the field, focus against a particular receiver with pinpoint accuracy and throw the ball right to that receiver much as a real-life quarterback does."

Reggie goes on to restate that Revolution will be fully unveiled at E3 2006 , and contain any comments of launch date other than the obvious launch by the end of 2006.

Reggie does go to the Nintendo DS's defence saying "The fact is, we have a number of not only worldwide but even U.S.-centric million-unit selling games, and Sony doesn't. We have games that are successfully expanding the audience for gaming for DS, and that's not true for Sony. The buzz for the DS is huge and growing and the most anticipated handheld titles are on our platform, not on Sony's."

All in all this was just like many other press releases one major tidbit (Under 300.00USD) and the EAGames hint, then simple restatements from past releases.

LOL it looks like EA better look at Reggie's hint or else they'll be taking names and kicking ass. It's also funny in that Nintendo could push Retro to go ahead and make some kickass Mario Football game or just some good football game to go head to head with Madden if EA doesn't take Reggie's implications seriously.

I also like how he is just so out there with what hes got. He doesn't say "competitors....", but says "Sony doesn't...."

I liked the part where he says many revolution games will be present at E3 2006.... not only will we get to see the complete revolution....but its games too.

I love the whole hinting system they use. I want to gain that power someday, to tell you something without even being on that subject...

And Iwata said the price will make us buy them ups. So I think a 299.99 price tag is not in the cards, more like 150.99-199.99 would make myself and all the Xbox fans I talked to buy the Revo in a snap.
