In today's issue of (JC)NewsFlash 2005 Web Awards I will be announcing the top ten best News sites and Top Ten best Gaming Publications. So Lets get started shall we.

Least Bias in a First Party Publication
Winner - NintendoPower

For those who are all going to complain about their favorite Magazines I will explain my findings now. I rated each magazine based on Bias and Journalism skills. Bias played a huge role in which magazine got what position manly because many magazines express major bias when talking about certain game companies. Ex.) OfficialPlaystation Magazine gives very high scores to exclusive Playstation titles whether the games are really that good or not.

All in all First party Magazines had a hard time getting a good position in my list because most of them express a lot of Bias in their reviews and previews. Magazines like PSM/Official Playstation(X-Box) magazine wrote articles like PS3 V.S X-Box360, no first party publication has the right to slam another first party in their magazine. PSM/OPM/OXM none had the right to say their system was better unless they set up online polls on neutral sites that found that their system was better. In 2005 other than NintendoPower all of the first party magazines slammed one another's platforms relentlessly and were not justified to do so.

So their you go, Part one of the WebAwards. Look for Part two next week that will outline Best Forum and Best Forum Mods to see which forums are really worth your time.

I would like to ask for other members input!

Since this is the first year of my (JC)WebAwards I want to know what do you think, Did I hit everything right on or did I slip up?

P.S - Sorry E-Mpire I couldn't place you as number 1 because like I outlined many times I cannot show bias or I wouldn't be that good of a journalist would I?

But I'll go into detail on how you got fourth position. When I first joined E-Mpire it was very bad at keeping up with the latest news (No Offense). Over a year I have seen E-Mpire get better slowly but then just barely like within the past two months E-Mpire has suddenly become one of my most used sites.

I credit your high score to a few things
- News is up to date and superior to many sites who scored lower than you
-Staff members of E-Mpire show little bias
-High standards are kept and used when you do your hiring
-The look of NNOW's skins and the site in general are better than many of the lower ranking sites (Some Improvements to be made)
-E-Mpires forums are well policed and have far less fanboy activity

So their you go, this is how you got your 4th position score. A few improvements can still be made but all in all E-Mpire you did a great job in beating out many of the other best websites.
