New Mario Scans


Famitsu magazine a huge Japanese gaming magazine just released more screens of the up coming MarioBrosDS title. Not much is known about this new Mario game many rumors float around of online multi-player and others talk about Mic and other new possibilities.

One thing we can be sure of, this Mario title will be the closest to the classics we are going to see for awhile (That is until Rev download service). Some may not like the idea of sidescrollers and other may not like 3D side scrollers but I'm pretty sure Nintendo has got you covered.

In the newly released images we can see a multi-player level, one in the desert, Haunted House, Ocean , Cloud shroom tops , Warp Pipe level , Bowser Fortress , Mountain terrain , Classic level (like level one in MarioBros NES) and lastly a level in the forest with Giant spiders.
Descriptions of each screenshot

Desert - This screen looks a lot like the typical desert stereotypes shown in past Mario games. With a massive pyramid and cactus creatures.

Haunted House - Basically a carbon copy of the SuperNES haunted house the room is full of Boo's as Mario tries to pass through.

Ocean - Features an image of Mario nearly being swallowed by a big fish.

Cloud Shroom tops - Above the clouds this image features Mario jumping on a mushroom with the wind obviously blowing and the Mushroom tops bending to the left. Looks difficult

Warp Pipe Level - Much like some of the levels in the NES games Mario is jumping from warp pipe to warp pipe with pipes above and below him.

Bowser Fortress - This level seems to take place in rocky terrain and Bowsers Cannons are firing bullet bills all over.

Mountain terrain - Mario is jumping from left side to right of a crevice as he heads for the top bouncing off both peaks.

Classic level - Mario is giant Mario thanks to a mushroom he is gigantic as he blows through the bricks in a level practically identical to that in the first NES Mario title.

Forest of spiders - Mario is creeping through a dark forest and is surrounded by Giant Spider.

I hope they end up making this more like SMW and less like SMB. Of course, SMB was much more important and legendary than SMW, but most of it is from the level design and how revolutionary it was, not from the mechanics themselves.

All I ask for... nay demand is more then one ice level and the world will be at peace for me and SMB:DS. Not to mention whooping ass in some old-school platforming action WiFi style!!

This game will rule all. I freakin love the DS. So many good games coming in 2006 and so many we don't know about yet. What's the PSP got this year? Seriously, what the hell does Sony have for the PSP besides all the DS ripoff games?
