I was refering to the XM25, as the weapon Kojima is excited about, the OICW is way too heavy so its not really feasible to put in the game. XM8 would be nice also.

There a problem with the second part of paragraph, i do realize that it takes place in the future, but if you look at the weapons in the trailer they are modern day weapons(M4A1), with modification. In the trailer and in Hideo Blog, i see alot of M4A1 and MP5(with alot of customization to be added ingame). Those arent really futuristic weapons. Im not saying they wont create any futuristic weapon, but it was Mr Mori(their military advisor) that told Kojima about the weapon, so logicly it has to exist today in the form of R&D or prototype. XM25 is my guess still for the reason mention on top(not much to go by). Maybe it isnt the XM25, but it has to be something that exist in todays time.

Every weapon ever created has probably been used in movies or games in some form or another, but its how you use it in your game that will seperate it from the rest.

I dont think anyone is confusing the "XXXX" system with the weapon , Kojima is excited about :D. Capable of new blogs up today!!

did some research on Land Warrior..seems OK, but isn Snake basically wearing a high tech rubber suit. it falls in the realms of sci-fi to me still(his suit is cool if it actually existed). Land Warrior still uses normal cloth.

I found in a book an full body armor acting like an exoskeleton ala Cyborg Ninja- just not that crazy that should appear in something like 2015.
in any case, that wouldn't be good for a main character. it would be good to have some enemies wear such suits and weild crazy weapons, but not the main character.

I have all versions of MGS4 videos, but I saw the real trailer from a BicCamera(eletronic store in tokyo, i live in japan) and it looks 10 times better than all the videos I have in my computer, unbelievable, i got wowed, beautifulllly, and yea felt pretty good.

Thats what I thought. Becuase when I watch the direct feed I was thinking that I know it looks better than what i'm watching because of the textures on the costumes. I know theres just detail you wont see from these videos online unless there very high-res.

I have the direct feed HD trailer, but my current PC is not powerful enough to run it. (It's a slide show on my PC) I'm trying to connect my PC to the XBox 360 to view the video, but I don't have media center. Kind of ironic the 360 is the only way I can see the trailer on my big screen, lol...Peace

I watched both 60FPS versions I had this morning after watching the 720p 30FPS version a lot of times these days, and it's amazing to see how smooth they are compared to the hi-res version. Just imagine both things combined, which is how the real thing truly is, and that's how next-gen games should look like.

That's for the basic infantry. The special forces are light-years ahead with weaponry that are mainly classified. I'm thinking of a suite that the special forces would wear; they are said to be very light. Possibly made of material that is akin to the spider's web.

it was either Future Wars or Wars of the Future. the writer didn't invent anything. all the pics were real and had footnotes stating the companies that are making them. but they nearly all had the word 'prototype' on them. the nearest weapon or armor was set for 2012.
if it is feasable to have themnow, then why the hell wait?

I tryed looking for pics on altavista but I only got exoskeleton and exo-armor creatures like rabs and what not, lol

To make your imagination of them both combine together possible, all you need to do is something very simple. All you need to do is go out and buy MGS3 - Subsistance.

A DVD version can be 60FPS indeed, but it can't be HD. So, unless an ultra-high bitrate 60FPS 720p version appears on the internet, I'm afraid we won't be watching MGS4 nearly as good as it can look before its release.

That's a good thing really. I mean, don't you want to be amazed when you buy the game? I do. In fact..I was going to try to stop looking at all images PS3 related but then I remembered I'm going to E3 so if the PS3 doesn't come out here in March then I really don't have a choice about it.

Yes, I see your point. As I mentioned earlier in this thread, by the time some more important information about MGS4 appears, I will stop posting in this thread and will avoid any screenshots, videos, piece of news, forums, etc. just like I did before the release of MGS3 and a few other games and movies for maximum excitement when I played them, and I'm really glad I did it that way. However, since I'd like to see some samples of what is coming for PS3, I would like to see a true HD, 60FPS version of this teaser trailer, which I probably watched about 50 times.

the cool thing would be if they gave a playable demo of MGS4 in the PS3 box.
i just read the new game informer it had a great story on MGS4.
it's going to be a hell of a game
