Super Mario 128 for 2004
remeber when Shigeru Miyamoto, said in that pikmin 2 and Mario 128 were both in the works? That was said a while back in a Japanesse playboy magazine article. Now Pikmin 2 is confirmed to be realesed. How come there was no info on Super mario 128. Well now it seems Miyamoto, is talking about mario again, why is it being kept so secret? and why was'nt it shown at E3? who knows?
"Mario 128 to be a true Mario 64 sequel"
Shigeru Miyamoto talking to a french gaming magazine recently revealed some exciting details concerning the game codenamed Mario 128.
The game has been in development a long time. The working title (Mario 128) was named over three years ago, meaning that the project began even before Super Mario Sunshine, a game believed by many to be based around resurrected N64DD code, was created.
Miyamoto also revealed that the expected release date was in 2003 for Japan and hopefully America 2004, with a Europe date shortly after.

i heard that the innovative thing in mario128 is that it will be in both 2D and 3D. I think it will be mostly in 2D but some things require 3D. I think it is cool if miyamoto returns mario to his roots.

A true Mario 64 sequel in both 2D and 3D.
They need to start the pre-order list now. It's been almost 7 years since one of the greatest games ever was released. Hopefully we won't wait that long again.Welcome to the USSA.

2003 there and 2004 here!? Im moding my cube.

07-31-2003 04:15 PM #7The difference between 2003 and 2004 can be less than it sounds. A game could release on December 31, 2003 in Japan and on January 1, 2004 in the US and technically be released in 2003 and 2004 but still only a single day apart.Originally posted by marioman999

I thought Mario 128 wasn't shown at E3 this year because Nintendo didn't want their ideas stolen?
And I doubt a new Mario game will come out anywhere in 2003..I spent no time on this signature.

If it has been kept under wraps well enough, a 2003 Japan release is very possible.

07-31-2003 07:31 PM #17Yeah I've heard that Miyamoto is calling this the real sequal to Mario 64 (I can only assume that by that comment he means better than Sunshine-despite that being class) which shows that they are really gonna go all out to get a better feed back on the game than they did with Sunshine. I did not know that he was thinking of mixing 2D with 3D which would make for a very iteresting concept, if they could structure it and pull it of that is.Originally posted by lederuvdapac

maybe its a "revolutionary gameplay engine" that the companies put on every games case....
but in all seriousness i think they got something good cookin on the grill for us, one thing though, was it confirmed or mentioned about a 2dand 3d game or did some one just think that up.
